Cheeky cheesecake fun for the PS1 era...

Even though this game has some seriously serious issues, I will always look back fondly on this game. It has a truly unfair save/resume system that will test your patience to the extremes. It also could really use a robust checkpoint system - considering this game's difficulty at least.

But I will always love Danger Girl. It's based on one of my favorite childhood comic series, which gives it brownie points right there...but I'll stand by this opinion: this game has the most accurate translations of comic book characters I've ever seen in a game. You can tell N-Space were fans of the J. Scott Campbell comicbook. Considering this was the first (and only!) time these characters got animations and voices for their designs. I think they did a wonderful job translating Abbey Chase and company to the gaming screen.

It's a great Tomb Raider/Winback hybrid game. And while it's too hard at almost all times with unforgiving level restarts - everything else is golden. Great VO and beautiful character models (for the PS1 era) are all over this thing. My love for the source material makes me wanna give this game a 5 star rating - but realistically, it's too hard and brutally punishing, along with WAY too many cheap hits that take you out with almost no chance to retaliate...that reason alone condemns this game to a 3...out of 5 rating. I still love it, regardless. Danger Girl is my beloved 3-star retro gem. So be it.Read full review
