Gr8 game w/some flaws.....

This game was very good. If you ever played god of war then you would love this game. Myself being an XBOX360 owner now was looking for a game to substitute for having no god of war and this game did the trick hands down. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is phenomenal, and the story is very well put together.

The only real complaint I have about it is that it ended to quick. As you go through the game you earn souls and with those souls you buy new moves and magic. As you level up new things become available for you to buy based on your level.(you can only go up to level 7 in holy and unholy.) These moves and magic that you buy are quite expensive especially as you go higher in the levels. By the time I had beat the game I had only had time to purchase things up to level 4 leaving soooo many moves and magic unpurchased and unused. I was very dissapointed by this. I didn't miss anything along the way as I progressed through the game like normal.

Other than the minor complaint about it ending to fast I have no other complaints with it. This is an excellent game esp. for god of war lovers and it will keep you busy for a little while. My advice though, don't pay over $25 for this one or your money will feel like it hasn't cleared your checking account before you have beat it.

Almost There

This is a really good game that has the potential to be great with a 2nd installment. Most people compare it to God of War because of the similar type of gameplay but I try not to. It's nice to have more games in that type of genre.

This game is beautiful...wonderful graphics, sound and very freaky as you play through the different stages of hell. The game can be a little frustrating at times due to the level design but its nothing that ruined the game experience for me. I just find it to be challenging. The average gamer should be fine getting thru the game.

I don't recommend you buy this for younger children or play it around your kids for that matter as it is very adult oriented. Overall, I enjoyed the game and I highly recommend if you like these type of dark gory games, especially at the bargain price you can find this on eBay :)

The journey through Hell is one worth taking!

Dante’s Inferno has taken a bit of flak from the gaming community for borrowing a lot (and I do mean a lot) of gameplay elements from God of War. But when it’s all said and done, Dante’s Inferno is a fun experience. The journey through Hell is one worth taking. It doesn’t last a terribly long time and has some lackluster moments, but the majority of the game is a blast to fight through. Beatrice’s Crucifix is a refreshing weapon for this type of game, and from Limbo to Violence the Inferno is full of memorable, if not haunting sights. This is the perfect game for any God of War fan willing to look past some derivative gameplay mechanics.

Dante's Inferno | Seen better, seen worse. Rent it!

This was a button-masher and if you want actual strategic game play, it's not for you. It's a fun and highly cinematic game that offers a good 5-8 hours of play through time depending on your play style and skill level. There's the option to keep your stats and go through the story again for completion purposes, 4 difficulty levels, and an Endurance mode. If you have an Xbox 360, this game has a lot of available content ready for download via Xbox Live, although you have to pay for most of it. Be forewarned that you won't want your kids playing this game since it has a good deal of nudity. One of the circles of Hell is, indeed, "lust," so what do you expect, right? But overall, this was a fun play through, but you may want to wait until it sees some lower prices or just rent it for a weekend.Read full review...

Dante's Inferno worth the price for XBOX owners. A must have...

Please....if you familiar with Divine Comedy then kudos for your literary interests. This game is not really based on that. Dante's Inferno is a good game in the same vein as God Of War. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? That depends on whether you liked GoW. I, personally, loved the GoW series and my son and I played and beat all of them several times. Dante will remind you of it (which is a good thing for XBOX 360 owners as GoW is a PS3 exclusive). The story is interesting and the graphics and controls are tight (although I will claim a preference to the comfort of the PS3 Controller as I have all the systems to compare). The fact that it is an older classic now will place this game under $10.00 which is a steal. I also recommend Darksiders highly as well (other GoW 'borrower', but a fantastic game).Read full review...

Decent game

The game looked amazing. Dante's divine comedy translated into video game and brutal and gory too. Clips were amazing and idea even more so. Unfortunately the game does not live up to the hype. Graphics are only so so and I ma not sure what happened to cutting edge graphics seen in trailers (not talking about CGI here). Most characters look the same and enemies are few and far between. Seriously there is maybe liek 5 enemies and then different variations of each with same finish moves and different fighting tactics.... Also thinking that this is going to be straight up hack n slash I was expecting a lot of fight and gore, but again, I was disappointed. Between every fight there is a breather and simply annoying platform leveles when transitting from one circle to another. It gets boring really fast and you will be most likely dying a lot trying to rush through those part. Bosses are mostly big and pretty sweet. Fighting them adds strategic thinking ad no boss is the same so it's a plus since there is a lot of them. I found vocie acting and music superb and really making you feel the pain and torment that one would endure both in hell and after losing the ones they love (Beatrice). Also I found the idea of unlocking combos and magic by earning souls, as well as fact that there is many different artifacts, most of which you can level up, that will aid you on your journey through hell, a really nice bonus. To sum it up this game is way below it's superiors (God of War, Darksider, Bayonetta, but it does have couple of fresh ideas and totally new setting which makes you feel uneasy at best most of the time. Game is worth picking up at half the price or less, but I would never recommend it for the full price. Solid fun yet very unbalanced and lacking. Wish Visceral took their time to polish this up like they did with Dead Space.Read full review...

ITS Great!!!!

Presentation
Impressive depictions of Hell, its denizens and an action take on the story are held back by some over the top M-rated content that only seems to be there for shock value.

Graphics
The creatures are striking, and running at 60 fps is great. The fixed camera can be limiting, as can the hard jumps between story formats and overwhelming browns or reds in levels.

Sound
The soundtrack is quite good across the board, and while some lines sound weak, the ambient noise and sound effects are effective.

Gameplay
The deceptively simple combat controls and out of place challenges makes it derivative instead of a unique action experience that hasn’t been seen before.

Lasting Appeal
Apart from the Gates of Hell, there isn’t much that will make players want to go back through this adventure until the promised DLC is released.

Amazing story and epic hack & slash game

This game is awesome! Absolutely compelling story, great animation, beautiful combat system. You will learn about Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy quite a lot too.
