Absolute classic.

Bought this as I hadn't seen it since watching on VHS back in 1979, and although some scenes were still fresh in the memory, I wanted to remind myself about the rest. I wasn't disappointed. Have loved this genre ever since I first watched it and if you are fans of TWD or FTWD you should try and get hold of a copy of this. Next job for me is to get Romero's other classicsRead full review...

Don't Say The Z Word

If you didn't own this zombie movie then your no zombie fan! George A Romeros finest zombie movie! And more than like the greatest zombie story ever told!

Following the events of Night of the Living Dead (1968), we follow the exploits of four survivors of the expanding zombie apocalypse as they take refuge in an abandoned shopping mall following a horrific SWAT evacuation of an apartment complex. Taking stock of their surroundings, they arm themselves, lock down the mall, and destroy the zombies inside so they can eke out a living--at least for a while. Tensions begin to build as months go on, however, when they come to realize that they've fallen prey to consumerism. Soon afterward, they have even heavier problems to worry about, as a large gang of bikers discovers the mall and invades it, ruining the survivors' best-laid plans and forcing them to fight off both lethal bandits and flesh-eating zombies. - Written by Curly Q. This was the second zombie movie I ever watched! And its still my favorite! With a great story line, cast and visual effects team who wouldnt want to see it???? If you find the nice blue makeup funny as it rubs off the zombie and onto the windows! Then you will like the gut ripping, head hacking, skin chewing and the head shooting even more! This movie is a must!

Ultimate Horror!!!

The quite terrifying and gory Dawn of the Dead was George Romero's 1978 follow-up to his classic 1968 Night of the Living Dead. But it is also just as comically satiric as the first film in its take on contemporary values. This time, we follow the fortunes of four people who lock themselves inside a shopping centre to get away from the marauding dead and who then immerse themselves in unabashed consumerism, taking what they want from an array of clothing and jewellery shops, making gourmet meals and so on. It is Romero's take on Louis XVI in the modern world: keep the starving masses at bay and crank up the insulated indulgence. Still, this is a horror film after all and even some of Romero's best visual jokes (a Hare Krishna turned blue-skinned zombie) can make you sweatRead full review...
