Dayton Press
I read all the reviews on different presses that were in the 100.00 range. I was really discouraged. Almost all of them except the Dayton Press had terrible reviews. Sloppy fit, poorly made castings, and yes, castings breaking in half.
I read the reviews on the Dayton Press and they were positive, so I thought I'd take a chance and buy one. I needed a Press with at least 6" of throat to Press some bearings and seals in an outboard motor lower unit output carrier.
I worked as a Machine Repairman for over 50 years and did business with Grainger and the Dayton brand for quite a while and really was never disappointed with their Dayton quality.
I bought the Press and it came well packaged and immediately I was impressed with the quality of the casting and the fit of the shaft and ram . I cleaned all the moving parts and the casting bores. I greased the moving parts and assembled the Press. I made some simple gib adjustments and the Press works smoothly with no slop. I mounted it to my bench and used it to Press in my bearings and seals.
I am really amazed at the quality of this under 100.00 Press. I know machinery and am very picky. The Dayton Press surprised me and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a small inexpensive Press.
Clean, grease, adjust, and mount it to a good bench you'll be smiling like I was.Read full review

Press good overall bad holder system
Main casting and paint looks good, but front plate casting is terrible oversized loose bolt holes and pitted. Magnetic holder broke first time I used it, took shaft out drilled and tapped some 1/4 set screw holes.
The handwheel does not move the ram without turning the main handle so the handwheel is really useless because you have to put the main handle in the midpoint position for the shaft to turn and be careful to not hit yourself if it slides forward.Read full review

Better Than Harbor Freight
A few bucks more, but well worth the extra quality and features. The speed wheel is a plus, and the adjustment was a snap to set handle for production use. Very sturdy, Nice Appearance. Will be something to pass down to the grandson.Read full review

Worth it if you need it
Got this for custom stamping small metal plates (copper, brass, and silver). It works and it plenty powerful enough to leave a deep impression, or snap the metal in two pieces if pressed too hard. Set up was easy, though we're using a custom ram-rod from a different manufacturer. Arbor press came in good condition, box was a little torn during delivery but not bad.Read full review

Sloppy but works OK.
It is rather crudely made, bolt holes not square, rough cast, gear teeth irregular, etc. It took several hours to find and correct the binding places on the ram's rack teeth. The bearing surfaces of the pinion are "threads" from high feed of the lathe. The pinion is a sloppy fit.
All the above said, it will do the job. For the price, it is a good value, if not "fine machinery."
It was delivered far more quickly than expected.Read full review

Great Tool, Gald I Purchased and Reccommend to anyone that has the need.
I had never used a arbor press before. I bought in to make some coin rings. It was a success. This press was simple to use right out of the box. Bolt it down to your workbench and ready to go. Great product and great price. Yes would buy again and glad I added this item to the workshop. Oh and the rings came out great..Read full review

Ok but rough.
This seems to be an ok press, so far. The main body casting is off center from the press base and the ram cogs are roughly cast. This makes any fine adjustments very difficult.
