Some comedy but also some moving portrayals, especially by the old father played by Peter o'Toole

Great to view interviews of actors and the young NZ director as well as the whole film. Have enjoyed this movie several times and will do so again now we own the DVD.

Best film we have seen all year

This is a delightful DVD. At first we couldn't make out what was going on except that Peter O'Toole was wonderful in his part as a crusty old gentleman. It is a slow burn story. Bear with it and all will be revealed - I don't want to give too much away as part of the fun is in the reveals, A story for dog lovers except there are very few pictures of cute canines - you will have to watch it to see. Despite it being several years old, this film was recommended to us by my brother-in-law. We have already loaned our copy to a close friend, it is that good. Have fun.Read full review

A very funny British period drama with a great twist for dog kind.

I loved this film so much I bought it in German, lent it out and lost it.....now I've got it in English. Why the whole world has never watched it I'll never know. It's a perfect British Period Drama - and as a dog lover it's hysterically funny. My partner, simply a dog liker, thinks it's very funny indeed. I particularly loved the Indian Prince and the game of cricket.
A great DVD in excellent condition. Thank you.

An absolute gem of a film that starts off with a slow burn but picks up a pace...

This film is slow burning but it is an absolute delight.
It is difficult to explain the plot as it is such an original piece of screenwriting but every character is perfectly cast.
It is heart warming, clever & humorous.
By the time the story has unravelled to it’s satisfying ending, you may well want to watch it again for the clues.
Simply lovely :)

Where do we go when we die? Is there such a thing as re-incarnation?

One of the truly great dog stories.

Acting at it's best.

Never thought I'd see Sam Neal in such a part, this film shows his versatility. O'toole is amazing, as always, he actually lives the part.
Fantastic!!!
