A great rower

I bought this as my first magnetic rower having previously owned an air rower, so I am in a position to compare. This rower is much quieter (no air rushing around causing wind noise) the only sound is the rollers on the seat sliding up and down the bar. The rowing action and resistance is just the same as the air rower and the user gets a very good cardio vascular and muscle toning workout. The adjustable resistance on this machine means your workout is as hard or as easy as you want it to be. My advice start slowly with very low resistance and a short time period (a beginner will find this difficult enough) and as your strength stamina and technique improve increase resistance and extend the time rowed. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would certainly recommend it.Read full review...

Disappointed

I can't say I am happy with this machine and have a few complaints which are amplified when I compare it to my previous rower.

1. The chair does not have a securing mechanism to keep it in place when the rower is packed away, it just rolls to the bottom, so those photos you see above where it is midway and locked in like you would find on another rower are just lies.

2. To switch from storage to active use is a complete faff, you need to unscrew the 2 main knobs entirely to free it up, then rescrew them when it is deployed, there are far simpler ways to achieve this and additionally I don't even know what to do with the larger knob when it is stored away since it won't go where it would normally.

3. Maybe I'm new to magnetic wheel rowers but the resistance almost feels inconsistent when in a pull, I pulled it and wacked my chest a few times on my first rows having to adjust.

4. The feet pads turn full 360, this is actually incredibly annoying since they flip when moving the rower to storage position and require you to lift the entire thing up an inch to flip them back to a usuable position when you unpack it, bare in mind that this thing is almost 30kg and you need a hand to flip the pads.

I will say it is fantastically quiet, and the build quality doesn't seem like there is anything worth complaining about.

Compared to my previous rower, which was an elastic styled rower that is often the first one to come up, this one lets down especially considering that this one is £60 more expensive.

The previous rower was lighter(much lighter.),

It actually provided more resistance overall which frustrates me since the main reason I got a new one was to increase the difficulty which this even on setting 8 doesn't do.

It had a vastly superior system to unpack, simply take a metal rod out, and place it back in when deployed taking all of 2 seconds to do.

I would return this thing if I could be bothered to take it apart and put it back in the box it came in but when it comes to returns I just hate the whole process.

Good little unit

The rowing machine arrived very promptly and was packaged well. The instructions where a little over complicated for the amount of assembly required but the machine was pretty straight forward to put together. Once assembled it is a neat little unit and does not take up to much space even when unfolded. My first thoughts were how quite the rower is, the magnetic resistance has a good range of resistance ,I have been using the number 4 setting for a forty minute row, this is an ideal setting for me at the moment giving a good workout. The seat is comfortable enough, the pully bar is of good thickness and the padding on the grip good. The monitor can be a little confusing to begin with but easy to get used to. Overall I am really pleased with this product , I believe it is good value for money and will hopefully provide me with good service aiding me in losing those pesky pounds! Read full review...

Deluxe is better.

This is a great machine for a beginner or, like me, someone with a few miles on the clock. It is well built, easy to maneuver once assembled and comfortable to use. I would however recommend getting someone to assist you with the assembly as I found it difficult to connect the wire to the counter and balance the two main parts without trapping the wire. Don't let that put you off though, as I said, i have a few miles on my clock. The machine works well. It is robust, folds away into a small place and is very much value for the price. I would highly recommend.Read full review...

Good for oldies like us

Well made, easy to assemble (spanners provided!). Takes up relatively little space in the room compared with some we seen. The strength of 'pull' is quite low and easy compared with pro ones... so we have it on the top 7 - 8 strength. But it suits us 65-70 yr olds. The analysis device display is rather confusing to understand, but these machines all probably us the same system.Read full review...

surprised how good it is

In spite of myself I occasionally buy pieces of exercise equipment. I usually regret it quickly, because they're not as good as the kit down the gym, and quickly turn them into clothes airers. So, I'm fairly cynical.

Anyway, I just bought this rowing machine a few weeks back and, it's brilliant! Half the price of a second-hand Concept, yet it's really well made, the action is smooth and authentic, and it's much quieter than an air rower. What's not to like?

In terms of use, the most significant difference that I can think of is that I've had to change my action a little. Because the machine is smaller than a Concept, my knees get in the way during the recovery so I now release my arms a little earlier. But, like, so what?

Low resistance but otherwise great value

The assembly instructions could have been clearer, but in practise it was fairly self-evident how it goes together and tools were provided with it.

In use, it is solidly built, stable and virtually silent. I am not a rower and so can't comment on how realistic it is, but it offers a good range of movement. The handle is just past your toes and the seat has lots of travel. I am 5' 9" and there is plenty of movement left in reserve.

The maximum resistance is quite low, but it is easily adjustable in eight steps with a big dial, and stays constant regardless of how far or how fast you pull.

The instructions say to warm up before using it, which is good, but then go on to show specific examples of stretching exercises, which are not good for warming up and should be left until after you have finished on the rower. That could have been made clearer.

Overall, it isn't perfect, but it is solid and works well, and for what it costs it is a great machine.

Superb value with good design

I wont duplicate anything already covered in the earlier reviews which at the moment are all 5*. I'm 6ft and find it does the job perfectly for what I want. It's smooth and feels reasonably realistic. I also like the way the computer constantly scans through the various readings (stroke rate, count, duration etc.). I personally find the resistance level range is about right. All very impressive for the price, and the cost for delivery to Sweden (£10 extra for a 28.5kg large box) was really excellent value.Read full review...

Very Happy seems very solid, rowing action is,excellent for price point, well built.bit as with any exercise product, time will tell

Excellent build, seems solid, nice rowing action, but as with any exercise product time will tell it all depends on how often, and how hard the machine is stressed....
One point,I feel I need to make,is the 1-8 tension settings,
I have not been on a rowing machine,I nearly 20 years, but when I sat on it I tried the various settings, and to be honest,I had to put on the highest tension, and then I knocked out 1100...Reps-off the bat,did not break sweat till nearly 600 reps, and I was pushing it..... I will admit I’m not a lightweight when it come to cardio, legs or arms as I was a very strong cyclist back in the day,
But I’m nearly 53,years old,and I must admit I don’t shy away from Hard physical exertion, but that said, one thing the machine needs,is a couple more settings,Maybe to,at least 10-16....but that’s my opinion, but That aside this machine will definitely give the average person a very good productive workout, and of Course,How hard you push yourself, but as with any Exercise,TAKE CARE..don’t do what I do,take yourself into any exercise regime with Care and Consideration...
But would I Recommend this product.....110% YES....👈🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
