Excellent low cost hi-fi alternative for use in even excellent systems.

For Denon DCD-1500II -- I have a stack of 8 CD decks, most above mid line and a few "top end". Nothing I have touches this in toe-tapping sonic quality or in solid rad-everything functioning. One of the best CD decks I have heard. Highly recommended.

I bought this seeking an alternative to the two main units I have been using. The under-rated JVC XL-Z411 is excellent and I use it daily. My Adcom GCD-575 is OK, and sees use in the video system. I was not disappointed.

My system is Nakamichi TA-4a driving a pair of "bookshelf" B&W 2-way augmented with a Pioneer powered sub. I've had tons of "hi=fi" systems over the course of over 40 years and am a strong tube amp aficionado. My current system is a downsize as I grow older.

This was purchased to repair the CD carriage in a Yamaha CD player. Installation was easy, only needed to remove on screw on the carriage cam to access the belt drive. [After removing the cover] Brought the player back to life!Read full review...

The best sounding audiophile cd player you can buy!!!

I'm audio collector for almost 20 years and I have in my possession more then 100 high end cd player's over the years but never experienced low cost cd player which can strongly stand against $5000+r>players and above. I have in my collection players
like Wadia, Meridian, Marantz, Rega and even tube
Droplet 5.0hd but Denon DCD-1500 play honest
music no fatigue great separation and 3D sound, just shortly it is amazing cd player money can buy.
Now I have 4 of this units in my collection and let me tell you I will sell other brands before I will let it go Denon DCD 1500. Love it :-)

just shortly it is amazing cd player.

Now I have 4 of the units and in my possession and want sell non of them.Read full review...

Excellent audio gear!

The Denon cd I purchased is truly audiophiles quality! I am the proud owner of klipsch corn walls that I purchased new in 1982, which I use as my reference speakers. While I am currently more focused on my return to listening to vinyl on vintage equipment, I am very pleased with the warmth and dispersement of this cd player. It has breathe new life into my cd collection...Miles and Coltrane have never sounded this good in a digital format.Read full review...

Perfect replacement belt for tray loading

Perfect fit for a Denon DVD-2200 that would no longer open its tray due to the slipping belt. After following a YouTube video for the DVD-2900 (same tray mechanism), the belt swap is fairly easy. Hardest part is removing the clips holding the gears in, but a hobby knife makes short work of it. Total time to replace was about ten minutes. This is a good replacement belt, so buy with confidence!Read full review...

great unit ,crisp sound great audiophile unit

This unit is a great piece if your building a audiophile vintage system. it has fixed and variable sound output what is great. its a solid unit that is very rugged and looks good too. i have had one since 1987

the sticky tray is a simple fix. the eject motor is belt driven the little rubber belt needs to be cleaned or replaced and the tray needs to be re greased after several years. then it will be fine.

Oldie but goodie!

The rest of my system is of the same vintage as this unit so I wanted to stick with the same era equipment. This unit was in very nice condition and works great.

Fits perfectly

Purchased a replacement drawer belt for CDX 1100u; fit perfectively. I had replaced belts before on similar CD players, so instructions weren't as necessary. Recommend this seller if he has belt in stock.Read full review...

Denon 1500: a decent but not great Denon model

This is a decent player, but it came along just before Denon decided to go all out, as they did with the far superior Denon 1500 II, which is utterly different, and Denon 1560 and Denon 1600 and Denon 2560. You can tell by weight alone: those other Denon models were far heavier, which in a CD player is a sign of high quality. The inside components were greatly different too. If you can get a Denon 1500 II for half again what a Denon 1500 would cost you, you should go for it. Not that the 1500 is in any clear way a poor CD player. It's better than Denon models with smaller numbers, and in its time it may have been Denon's best. I guess it finally depends on how much quality you want/need and what you're willing to spend. I can recommend the Denon 1500 in this qualified way.Read full review...
