This vacuum is great! Easy to put together, light weight, long cord (to me is a +) and easy to use. I really prefer bagged over bagless. Bagless is such a pain in the neck, ill gladly pay $6.00 for 3 bags which will prob last a year if not 2 because I only vacuum every 1-2 months. I also like the extended wand, which is long but wish it was longer. Some people said the wheel broke on theirs, but I haven't had that issue so dont let that scare you from buying this. I would've gave this 5 stars if the wand was longer, its long just wish it was longer, but all in all a GREAT vacuum and I recommend buying it!Read full review

Good Vacuum at this Price

The Dirt Devil Featherlite is a good vacuum for the money. In fact, I don't think you'll find better for under $60. It has good suction, is very light (under 10 lbs.), has all of the necessary attachments (long hose, brush, crack sucker) and has a long cord and a place to wind it up. It is however louder than most other vacuums. Presumably due to a lack of noise deadening material in an effort to keep weight down. Also, the mechanism that locks the handle in the upright position is difficult to use but I found that a bit of petroleum jelly on the latch helps a lot.
So, if you're looking for a good functional vacuum with no frills at a very reasonable price buy the Featherlite!Read full review

Good for quick cleaning

It is very light. The suction is very good. I can carry it anywhere especially to use on the stairways. Since I like use both hands to hold the vacuum cleaner to vacuum the stairways it would be nice to have left hand holder on the vacuum cleaner. Not sure if the power cord could be improved or more durable from grinding, I accidentally placed the vacuum cleaner on part of the power cord and the rotating brush ground section part of the power cord. Super lightweight at a great price

I ordered this vacuum specifically because it was lightweight and had high reviews. I also wanted a model that uses bags since I hate messing with the filthy cup that needs to be manually emptied with the bagless models. There are several on-board attachments that are included that are an added bonus. For only $40 and with free shipping it was an absolute bargain as well. While it's louder than my Hoover it's perfect for me to use on the stairs and in my upstairs bedrooms. It's great to no longer need to lug my full-sizer Hoover around.Read full review

This vacuum was purchased to replace one just like it that we used for many years. The new one works as well, better quality hose, but has a problematic cover over the bag area. The way the cover attaches to the main body is not as secure as the old design, and it has fallen off a couple times.

Got tired of cleaning the filters every time I used my 250 dollar whirlwind

This vacuum was easy to put together(3 pieces) in 10 minutes.It works great and picks-up the same amount of crud as my expensive vacuum did. This vacuum is not built heavy duty,but does the job and with normal home use I expect a reasonable operational life for the money.I bought bags and extra belts with the purchase so I'm set to go for awhile.......P.S. lightweight, but powerful

I really didn't think it was going to be that light, but it is. I really like the brush attachment. I have only seen the double sided attachment this one is only sided so it picks up better. The vacuum is really powerful. It get dirt very well in corners and along baseboards. Only problem i had (which is not really a problem) was i had to hold the vacuum front down to make it click in the upright position. That's just how light it is.Read full review

Light but power full .

I start assembling it and notice how light it was, I wonder if it will be a crappy vacuum. after 10 minutes start using it and the first thing I notice is that it is loud but it clean the carpet really well. it is easy to maneuver and light enough to carry it around with not effort.
