Did the job.
For the money, a good bit of kit. I put a new clutch in my vivaro van 2.0, friends told me it was silly to attempt gearbox removal on my own outside my house, reading about how heavy the gearbox was I purchased this tool. Couldn’t have done it without it. Only downside was the tilt adjustment was very stiff to adjust with the weight of the gearbox on it, rocking the box by hand whilst turning the tilt helps. Setting up takes a little while, I turned the gearbox upside down, placed the tool on the underside of the box and adjusted where needed to make it fit. I didn’t use the chain to secure I used washing line, much easier and quick and easy to snip off once finished. Good bit of kit. Forgot to mention I took gearbox out with a trolley jack only, then purchased this tool knowing I’d have problems refitting just with the jack alone. Read full review...

It does the job but there was not enough chain supplied to go round a gearbox twice and have bought more - there was no assembly or user instructions - the quality of the thread on the tilt mechanism was not very good and ran it up and down several times with grease to free it up . The parcel arrived spilling parts out of one end, due to the band being missing from one end of the box, and also there was no sticky tape to make then box more secure. I had to put a 12mm drill through the trunnion where the adjustment rod went in order to complete the assembly, as the hole was not big enough to allow the end of the shaft to be inserted. It looked as if the "plating " was thick enough to cause this, although a fair amount of material had to be removed to get the hole to size. Having said that, i reckon the tool will last. It's a good price of kit but if the car is fairly low you will struggle to use it unless you jack the car up a fair way. Little bit of play in the bottom but other then that it's great. Works fine if you plan how to remove box in advance,make sure the vehicle is as high as you can safely get it. Safety chain is a good security addition. However be careful ,move slowly.

Not much use
With the picture showing this in use on a trolley jack it kind of hints that its usable at low level, but unless you can get the vehicle about 3feet off the ground its useless. Working on a car at a sensible height on axle stands the jack is just about at its lowest when locating this under the gearbox leaving no room to lower a gearbox out from under the car.Read full review...
