A really great book ...

This is an excellent book - well written, well researched and very thought provoking. The writer also has a style that is easy to read, so although it's a big book, with a lot of information, it's also a page turner .l..Read full review...

Absence of Absolute Truth

As all his other books "Dominion" is extremely well written and packed full of information. Unfortuneatly Mr. Holland betrays, albeit unconciously, a lack of beleif in an absolute truth, this gave me as a beleiver an uncomfortable feeling. For instance, his treatment of the early church leaves a distinct impression that St. Paul was the instigator and leader of the whole church outside Palestine. By so doing he obsures the working of the Holy Spirit and reduces the reasons for the growth of the Christian church to turmoil in the philosophical and political spheres of the Roman world. I remain a dedicated fan of Mr. Holland and cherish my copy of his Channel 4 documentary.Read full review...
