Too Real For Small Children.
If you are an adult looking for the BIG scare, this is pretty tame. The acting is above the usual standards The haunted house setting is beautiful...double staircase, beautiful wood, attention to decor. The "haunted house" theme is still my favorite in the horror genre, & their set designer did a wonderful job. The creepy basement really appeared to be an intimidating dark chamber, rather than the basement at granny's house. While there was no big scare factor that we horror junkies feed on, this film is enough to keep your kids awake for several nights. The little creatures that inhabit the house would probably seem very real to a child. The creatures achieve a more sinister appearance than the usual stuffed toys that have come to life. Pretty tame for thrill seekers, but enjoyable to those of us who appreciate decent acting & set design.Read full review
