Closest version to the book!

Almost every dramatised version of Bram Stokers Dracula insists on giving Dracula a love interest which isn't in the book itself. Having said that this version is the closest I've seen to the actual book so for that alone I'd recommend it! Gary Oldman is electrifying as Dracula but the rest of the cast (with the exception of Anthony Hopkins) are weak. This version is getting a bit dated when you measure it against today's special effects but if you want to see something that is close to the book and includes characters that are usually left out of filmed versions, I'd recommend you see it.Read full review...
