Oddly Addicting

This game is a few years old but as a new first time player I'm pretty hooked on it. There is so much to do that even after a few playthroughs I'm still finding new and interesting quests/characters to interact with. The different origins you can play are very interesting and depending on which you pick can drastically change how others relate to you. The romances are a cool addition and the different places you visit while on your mission look great. Plus since it has been a few years people have developed all sorts of modifications that you can add to your game (on the PC anyway) to make game play even more entertaining/tailor it to be more personal for you. I love these games and I'm really glad I decided to give them a chance.Read full review...

Great Game after activation.

It was very hard to activate, Bioware website is closed, and I had to find another way to activate. I did get the job done and I do like playing.

Finally a Decent RPG on Console

This is a review I wrote for the PS3 version. Game play should be reasonably the same.

Dragon Age is probably the best RPG made for a console system. I may be a bit spoiled since most of my RPG time has been on the PC spending hours playing games such as Diablo/D1/LOD and similar, but I have not seen one decent Role Playing Game for the console - until Dragon Age.

The Awakening expansion adds countless hours to game play and even at full retail, playing on the easiest mode (casual), you will still get your money's worth with game time.

An outstanding story line, great character customization, and the ability to really "choose your own adventure", making many moral decisions that effect game play instead of the typical, do this - do that don't forget this - style of game play.

The rating of Good (4 stars) is simply because I think there is room for improvement. Overall, a very good buy for anyone looking for more of a true RPG on the console.

Dragon Age Origins is exciting

I'm a long-time Everquest 2 gamer. What I enjoy about games of this type is that they are exciting, and engage my "problem solving" skills. But more than that, the game is a romp through another world, one that is large and full of places to go, stuff to do. I like the virtual travelling.Read full review...

Better than DA: Inqusition

What's there to say? Still the best out of all three Dragon Age games. Tons of replay, great stories and tons of mods out there to make the game even more compelling. If you haven't played this game, it's a must have if you're into fantasy rpg's.Read full review...

GREAT RPG

great game. good storylines and depth. I put this one off for a number of years as i was into other games and coming back to it now is a breath of fresh air. takes me back to the likes of Baldur's Gate. good character interaction and romance options. hidden gems. humour. graphics are good. they are not as slick as newer games, but you can forgive that. for the year it was released, they were. the extra content is also great. many more places to visit and loots to find. and it's the first of a series, which i can't wait to play more of. another solid game from Bioware.Read full review...

Better then NWN

I started playing RPGs 30 ago with D&D: you know rolling actgual dice and making real maps. I loved Baulder's Gate, and I loved the original NWN, but was dissappointed with NWN 2. Dragon Age: Origins is a cut above any other RPG I've played: Lots of action, but alos lots of character biulding, and I don't just mean leveling. You can build relationships with your minions as well as get into yoru character's head. And yes, smash lots and lotrs of bad guys, but you olny win if your tactics are right. That's another inovation of the game: you can tell your minions how to act in certain situations before the action starts. An all around great game.

Great game with various adds in one box.

I bought the game because I'm an RPG games fan and the game was review quite high on a lot of game sites and game charts.
After the purchase I must say it's a fine addition to a game collection of anyone who's into the RPG games and likes to have a single player option (as opposed to the multiple online ones).

Pros: The package combines all of the published contents for the Dragon Age - Origins game in one box. Easy installation. Great price in compare to what you get and the alternative of purchasing it one by one.

Cons: I found that the DVDs had trouble working on different drives. The game woked on my computer but didn't work on brothers DVD-drive. You have to have the dvd in the drive while playing.
