Sean Connery makes this movie
I purchased this movie to watch the performance of Jason Isaacs.
I ended up liking this movie, for the performance of Sean Connery as Draco,
the Dragon. His interaction with Dennis Quaid is unique. Only Mr Connery and his acting talents could have made this movie what it is. You actually believe you are watching Mr Connery, when in fact its really DRACO.
Mr Isaacs had a very, very small role in this film.
This movie also has stunning, believable special effects, for the year it was made. Would I recommend this movie? Yes!! Did I enjoy it, YES!!
Dennis Quaid usually turns in a better performance, but for some reason he was a little bland in this one. I bought this movie used, because it seems to be out of print, for now. Pure escapism, but I enjoyed it. At times, we all need to escape. Although Mr Jasons role is brief, he does have a cool death scene.
If you call being skewered in the back cool. I do!

Dragonheart (DVD, 1998)
When a medieval knight takes the son of the king into charge to teach him the honorable code, he is suddenly placed in a position of crisis. The king killed by rebels, and the young boy instantly elevated to king, brings about problems when he too is wounded. The Queen has the boy brought to a magic dragon (Sean Connery voice), who upon her begging gives the dying young king a piece of his heart and saves his life. For this magical gift, the young king has sworn a holy oath to uphold the old code.
As the young king ages he becomes more and more cruel and heartless. The knight is banished when he attempts to chastise the king for not following the old code. As his depravity and viciousness grows, someone must bring him to justice. In order to punish the king for his cruelty and inhumanity, he must kill him. But if he does, it will also mean the death of the gentle dragon who is the last of his kind.Read full review...

Dragonheart
The young, sickly King Einon was wounded in a battle. In order for him to survive, he is healed by Draco, a dragon. Some years later, Bowen, a dragon slayer, encounters Draco. The two team up to form a traveling duo that perform an act, but the act is only known by themselves. Bowen supposedly "slays" Draco and then collects a reward from the town or village that he protects by killing the dragon who had been "terrorizing" them. From there, Bowen and Draco must save the entire kingdom from the rule of the now evil King Einon, who is part of Draco and Draco a part of him. Dragonheart is an incredibly uplifting movie. An amazing movie, an amazing cast and an amazing result. Get the movie, and get the soundtrack. You'll love them both.Read full review...
