Good for wood metal and most materials but not so easy for glass

I use a rotary engraver for most of my work and thought a Dremel would be handy for the finer detail. It works well on most materials except glass where it requires a very light touch to prevent chipping. Otherwise it is very handy little tool,Read full review

I bought this to mark my tools, in an attempt to avoid arguments on site who's is what. I have found it's good for etching glass and quite a few other things. You can buy a plain vase decorate it, or 'dremel-it', as it has become known, and hand made Christmas /birthday presents abound. I like to say their crafted by disabled orphans, to explain the jiggly lines . But I expect the hear from the disabled orphans society any day now. Used for a test run on sycamore with the normal bit. Nice to hold and weighted well. Used on setting 1 it worked very well and I was surprised at the results. The noise is like a compressor, not too loud but I advise to use away from everybody else as it is not that quiet either. I noticed vibrations through my hand after 20 mins but I am extremely happy with this purchase, and for a novice it is very usable and a nicely finished product at a fantastic price.Read full review
