Mxr 6- band guitar equalizer pedal
This is the perfect size eq pedal for my application. I recently purchased a small Bad Cat cougar 5-watt tube amp with 3- very basic controls: volume-master-tone which works fine...but it has a Nice effects loop....so I put this very road worthy Mxr m109 6- band eq in the loop. Wow...what a upgrade. This really let's me find the sweet spots with my single coil and bucker equipped guitars....great job mxr....also gets the Celestion vintage 30 growling easier at friendly levels. Perfect.
For a 6- band eq pedal I was very happy with the results for the slider frequencies... Built solid. A keeper.Read full review

Mighty fine EQ pedal designed for electric guitarists
MXR's 6-band EQ pedal is designed for especially electric guitarists...i.e., targeting sweet spots in the EQ that make the guitar shine in the mix: 100hz, 200hz, 400hz, 800hz, 1.6K, 3.2K...great for boosting solos, crafting a new sound or crucially for making fine adjustments to the room that you're playing in (pulling out bad frequencies is just as important as adding ones that are missing)...I've been using an EQ in my rig for 35 years, it's essential. MXR's litte box is military-grade sturdy and has beautiful red lights when it's engaged...great product...Read full review

Does it's job
Good tool to sculpt tone preamp or post amp in the effects loop. Don't expect extreme adjustments but small ones from these type of pedals. People think you can plug in a pedal and it's going to instantly change a tone but from my experience most never work like that. Mxr is a good brand with well made products, you get what you pay for.Read full review
Great tool for shaping sounds
You can never have enough pedals on your pedalboard really. I've been searching out an EQ pedal for a while now just to have to do some tone shaping and sculpting. The MXR EQ pedal certainly does the trick and it's very useful in many situations. If you're looking to come up with your own unique sound for distorted guitar otherwise I think it EQ pedal is a good way to explore these possibilities.Read full review
