Great value number plate mount.

Light weight stainless nicely formed and polished with lots of fixing options! The recess where your number plate sits is almost deep enough to retain the number flush to the bezel. My only gripe is that the returned edge of the pressing is sharp. If the number plate holder is mounted on a flat surface no problem, if it's mounted on a bumper where the edges are effectively exposed you'll need to be careful when washing or cleaning behind it. I'd still recommend them and buy them again. I'm going to gently debur and remove the the sharp edge with a fine file. Read full review...

Not that good

I picked this holder out of a sea of plate holders on EBay.
It does the job, but, it’s very sharp on the back edge and you will need to be carful handling it. Fitting is straight forward, make sure you use stainless steel screws. I’ve also run a bead of sikaflex on the back edge so it didn’t mark the paintwork on my vehicle. Read full review...

Professional Finish

I bought these for my 2018 E Class Merc and they arrived very quick and were well packaged. Each piece was individually protected with clear film. On my car the mounting holes did not align with the pre cut slots in the plate. I used a round file to open up the adjacent slots to my mounting holes and this worked a treat. The plates could do with more selection of mounting holes to fit a wider range of cars but you can overcome this with a file. The rear plate fitted quite easily but there were no sticky pads or double sided tape included in the kit to attach the plastic reg plate so you will need to buy these in advance. The front plate on my car is curved so the plate needed to be gently bent into shape. This worked well with no deformation of the plate profile provided the bend is done very slowly and little by little.

There were no sharp edges on these plates so handling was safe and no cuts were experienced. Once the plastic film was removed the mirror finish was very good and these look very professional when fitted.

Highly recommend paying the higher price for these if you want quality and no sharp edges for handling.

As long as you have your own fitting pads etc these are a great item to show off you Reg plate.

Now your jalopy will look more Roller.

My second set of these for different cars. It really sets off new pressed number plates and looks superb. My first set is now two years in use and still looks like its just been fitted. Its pressed sheet stainless steel so it does have sharp edges. You could spend a few minutes de-burring them or just use something like gardening gloves when handling. They are perfectly straight and I needed a slight curve on the front plate for both cars. With a bit of patience and care I managed that (10mm rise from edge to middle) using a heat gun on high (450c) to help de-stress the metal and slowly add small bends every 100 or so millimetres along the length. I used stainless steel screws and washers to fix them in place with a small amount of double sided tape as backup.Read full review...

Good but could be perfect with a few minor changes

This is a good quality surround at a great price. However it would be even better with very little effort. The mounting holes in the surround did not accommodate either car in our house without modification. Then the lack of countersinking did not allow the use of the original screws (as stated on the packaging). That said, I would definitely buy another and highly recommend it as an alternative to the plastic variety. It looks stunning on the car.Read full review...

Not Mercedes specific - need drilling.

Ok,
These are better than the chromed plastic ones.
The chrome finish wears off these after a couple of washes.
These stainless ones are twice the price but are worth the extra investment.<br>There are a coupla sharp edges on them so take care.
They don't line up with standard Mercedes number plate holes so you need to drill them, can be tricky due to angles involved. Easier to drill a small hole then round it out.
Also, you'll most likely need cobalt drill bits as the steel is tough to drill.
Bought 2 sets.

Read my product review

It is a decent plate holder, but the outer edges are very sharp so you have to be very careful. I cut my finger when attaching it hence four stars. There is a problem though, if it does not fit flush to your car body work or your car does not have a big enough area to accommodate it fully, you will have to be very very careful when cleaning around it because the sharp edges will be exposed. If you try to dull the edges you could scratch the bright work on the holder. I put yes to the the 3 above because I would say that they are OK as long as you can fit it as I have explained.

Stainless steel number plate surround

Perfect size for standard number plates. Previous to buying this one I had a chrome effect plastic surround. The chrome finish wore off in no time the stainless steel replacement is excellent , as shiny as chrome without the wear. Read full review...

Good.. couple of points to note

Well made for the cost. Couple of points.. it is worth sanding the edges wit something like 240 grit as they are very sharp.. wear gloves to do this.
It is also worth drilling the four edge hole on the steel frame with a 2.5 mm drill before assembling onto the plastic backing as they are a bit tight Read full review...
