Fiddly set up but worth the hassle
Installation of the camera was simple enough but setting it up is a nightmare. If possible I would suggest you set up prior to attaching to the outside of the door simply because you need to press the button and pair with the app. Pairing is the fiddly part. Turn off your data connection and any vpn before even attempting to pair with the app. Download the app, register an account. Press the doorbell button find the camera on your phone, create password, find your wifi router, enter wifi password and you should be done, although the app doesn't make each step clear and if you miss a step it can lock the camera out and in my case it had to go back to Era for a factory reset. You can also add the 240v plug in chime through the app.
Once up and running the doorcam works well although some people have problems with tryig to press the lens and not the button which is highlighted by 2 green lights. You can set for adjustable motion alerts, adjustable PIR alerts or just bell presses. I have found that if motion is detected then it doesn't always alert you to a door bell press so you can't answer through the app, which sort of defeats the point. When it works it works well, clear footage and a good field of vision. Even night mode gives a clear image.
The chime simply plugs into a normal house socket. Adjusting the chime and volume is done by button pushes on the unit and on loud it's easily heard. There is also a green light on the unit which is bright enough to act as a night light and flashes to alert you to a visitor.
The 12 month cloud storage makes the doorcam standout over the competition, albeit you are limited to 100 download/alert views per month. At the moment there is no option to upgrade to paid storage which hopefully when it comes will offer unlimited download/alert viewsRead full review
