I'm amazed!

I bought the ScaleRID SR-2000 after being quoted thousands for a salt based softener. I'm on a private well in Palo Pinto county, Texas. The closest town is called Mineral Wells and the aquifers in this part of Texas are known to hold very hard water. I had the well water tested and it came back with very high Iron and other minerals as well as bacteria.
I read both good and bad reviews on this product but figured it was worth trying before spending the big bucks.
After reading reviews stating all kinds of problems with the install, I read the short instruction booklet and was careful, particularly with keeping the coils more than 6" from any metal objects. The install was easy and went smoothly. The connections were easy to make. In my case the supply line is 1/2" pex.
I'm not living here full time yet and every time, before leaving I had to turn off the hot water heater because the smell of the water after sitting unused was awful. I called it "poo water" because that's exactly what it smelled like. So every trip out would begin with completely draining the HWH, letting it run to thoroughly rinse out and then turning it back on. And even while here, running water for typical household use, the water would begin to smell foul in a very short time. My inquiries told me this was due to the bacteria in the well water.
This device has changed everything. I could tell a difference upon taking my first shower. As stated, soap stays on longer and the mineral buildup in the toilet bowl/shower/sinks has already lessened.
The one thing I'm most happy and surprised about however, is the lack of odor from the heated water. EdenPure barely makes mention of this (the booklet states "may help kill bacteria") so I didn't expect this to solve the problem. In fact I've also ordered but not installed yet a 3-stage 20" canister system and a separate 5 stage system for my drinking water.
With the EdenPure SR-2000 as the first stage and with the results I'm already seeing, I can't wait to install the other 2 filtration systems. Although those systems cost quite a bit more, I feel the ScaleRID is the key to solving my water problems. I'm going to order another for my utility room as it is separate from my house!

easy install

nice unit;the wires that wrap around the pipe were a little short for 1in galvanized pipe;some of the wires came out of the plug?the clips were not holding?i work with these kind of wires in the automotive feild and you have to use a pin punch to get them out;these wont stay in?finally got them to stay by taping them;this worked;you need to improve the wire ends;otherwise nice product;will see how water looks in 2 weeks?Read full review

Too soon to tell

Only used this for a few days. not sure its effectiveness, but it appears to be of some help. I already had a whole house filter and water softener, which are still in place.

Unused , in the box it came in !

It's still in the box that It came in because I couldn't get them to tell me if it would cause any leaks in my plastic lines once it cleaned out the sentiments. I couldn't take a chance because I have an upstairs that a leak would cause me havoc.Read full review
