Very effective hum eliminator

This product works very well BUT, for Australian purchasers be aware that the power source is a 110/7.5V AC adapter and finding a 240/7.5V AC adaptor in Aust is all but impossible! I eventually found one in the UK! Good product but designed for the US market.Read full review

Hum de-bug de-bugger - Hum de-bug

I used it for my Clavinet. Works great, although some times you can tell it affecting the tone ever so slightly. I say its worth a try if you are experiencing hum. For the price its a good way to go, even if just to try it out, and electro harmonix makes great stuff. So de-bug that hum de-buggy!Read full review

Goodbye hum, at least the worst of it

Like many guitarists who use single coils, I was having trouble with 60 cycle hum, and possibly other RF/EMI noise from the old wiring in my house. I tried a number of solutions, none of which really worked (the gate stopped the noise when I wasn't playing, but didn't help when I was playing). I read the reviews of this item and decided to take a shot, and I'm glad I did.

On the normal setting, the Hum Debugger basically reduced the noise to a very tolerable level. It's not totally gone, but when you start playing it isn't noticeable anymore, which definitely wasn't the case before. The stronger setting gets rid of a bit more, but I don't detect a huge difference between the two settings in my rig.

Best of all, I detect no change in the tone of my instrument, and I cannot hear any echo or "slap back" effect that some reviews have brought up. So this unit really did the trick for me, and now I can get rid of the gate. Obviously different rigs and different sources of noise may produce different results, but I recommend at least giving the Hum Debugger a shot if you're struggling with hum and noise.

Electro-Harmonix XO Hum Debugger Hum Eliminator Guitar Effects Pedal review

Works great! Does what I wanted it to do which is cut out electronic hum without affecting the tone adversly. It works better on Normal than Strong for me. I find that Stron affects the tone too much although it also gets rid of the electron 60 cycle hum. I use it with various Fender Jazz basses I going to let a guitarist friend use it with his single coil Strat and see how it does but right now he's having too much fun with a Humbucker 335 to go back to the Strat just yet. Hum DeBugger working great with the P90 in my lap steel.

Wow, this totally changed how well the P90 is working. It cleaned up the bulk of the hum and low frequency hiss without squashing the tone of the instrument. The Normal/Strong switch didnʻt seem to make that much difference with the noise i had. I was able to clean up the rest with a parametric eq (1.5kHz and 3.1kHz) and now can push the gain for a much fuller sound, and is allowing me to lighten my touch. Iʻll be trying it with the rest of my instruments next! I bought mine used, and it was well worth the money. Iʻm using one now, and plan to get another as soon as i can afford it!Read full review

It really saved my nerves

I bought an expensive guitar that has single coil and hum-bucker pick-ups, all of them are noisy in my room. It's decent during day time but in the evening it goes nuts. The hum noise level is as loud as actual guitar signal. I though that guitar is defective but then learned that it is EMI caused by tons of electric devices from my neighbors. I got Hum Debugger and it cuts it out very well. I couldn't believe how good it works. You still can hear some crispy little noise sometimes, but it's playable. At least you can enjoy the sounds in the quiet evening time. People say it affect the sound of guitar a bit, maybe, I can barely notice, if I can at all. In my case the remedy for the hum noise is 99% where potential little change in the tone is 1% of a problem.Read full review

Hum Debugger

I have guitars with single-coil pickups that picked up hum and noise. This pedal totally eliminated the problem. It is more than a noise gate, it actually has active circuitry that cancels hum and noise.

Now, the downside. It uses a 12V AC power supply, so it cannot be operated with the standard 9VDC that most other pedals use.

Overall, it really solves problems with noisy guitars.

Wow!! A pedal that actually performs it's task.

The pedal dose just what it is supposed to do. The hum is gone and the signal is pure, what more could you ask? My only complaint is, the pedal that I received is made in China. I had to take the bottom plate off to find out where the pedal was made. At the hefty price it should have been made in the USA. Part of the inspiration to buy the pedal was to support American business.Read full review

No More Noise!

I have added hum with my pedal board and certain guitars are just noisier than others. The Hum Debugger cleans all the unwanted noise and keeping the signal and tone true! Not to mention when you have all your effects on and you have a quick stop. It just is silent. I love it. Read full review

EHX Hum Debugger

The Electro Harmonix "Hum Debugger" Eliminates noise primarily caused by single coil guitar pickups like a Stratocaster uses or a P90 like LP Juniors. It works as described in the product description, simply step on the button and the noise is gone with no loss of sustain or signal.Read full review
