At a time when electricity rates have rocketed and it costs three times as much to heat your home, put one of these near you, close the door and it will keep you nice and warm for around 13p an hour on 1 bar. The only downside of these heaters is the tubes cannot be replaced unless you are skilled engineer or scientist and it is pot luck how long they last. Can be anything from a week to months, luck of the draw and how much you use it i guess.
The low price though means that it is well worth it regardless of how long the tube lasts so what are you waiting for. Get a couple ordered and save yourself a lot of money on the electric bill this winter.Read full review

Great heater, economical to use.
With 3 heat settings, it's easy to control for the temperature that suits. I found that if you move it at all, while it's on, the safety cut out kicks in. That's a good thing.

Compact, economical little heater
We eventually bought two of these 800 watt heaters, as we were very pleased with the first one.
They give off a nice, gentle heat, which is not too intense, doubtless aided by the fact that each bar is only 400 watts. Personally, I find the heat sent out from fan heaters a bit uncomfortable, but they are usually 1 kw for each setting - 2.5 times the wattage of the halogen ones, which doesn't help in that respect. The low wattage means, of course, that this halogen heater is much cheaper to run than a fan heater. Even if we boost the output initially by using both bars, the electricity consumption is still less than a 1 kw fan heater.
My only concern is the life of the elements, but only time will tell how long they last. At present they're all still fine, and replacement elements are readily available should they be needed. I just hope they're not needed too often!

It provides a lot of heat for a small heater. , the quartz Halogen heater provide more heat than just Halogen which is just bright light.
However the bars burnt out within 3 months of purchase and replacing these are impossible- easier to buy a new heater.Read full review
