Epic Movie an Epic Failure

I love a good spoof and have been a fan of the Scary Movie series. I even enjoyed Date Movie. So having missed this one in the theatres I couldn't wait until Epic Movie came out on DVD. I didn't even rent it first- I went straight for the purchase... I shouldn't have... really... I don't think my husband or I uttered a single laugh throughout the entire film. We kept watching just waiting for it to get better, but it never happened. SO disappointing... If you are a fan of spoofs you'll probably want to check this one out despite the poor reviews- but I'd definitely recommend renting it first.

The majority of the spoofs in this movie appear to come from The Chronicles of Narnia (Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe) and the storylines of the 2 movies are very similar. It also includes a few nonspecific spoofs from Harry Potter and several other more recent films. Of course, this movie contains the same type of "bathroom humor" that has been standard in other recent spoofs (Scary Movie and Date Movie). It also contains a lot of other "humor" that some might find offensive, such as homosexual relationships between humans and animals (yes.. wrap your mind around that one...) and a few racial references that I believe were not only in poor taste but were also unnecessary- had nothing to do with furthering the storyline. While this version of the movie is unrated the only scene that could possibly warrant it is one in which a naked woman runs out of the wardrobe following an avalanche of toys and other junk. Epic Movie

To be honest it was ok. Not as good as the scary movies or even date movie. They shoulda had all 6 writers instead of 2 of the 6. The movie felt short and had some parts that was stupid. Like the kanye west "bush dont care about black people" part. The movie starts off with 4 orphans who go into willie wonkas factory. One orphan goes into a room with the wardrobe and goes in it. She ends up in gnarnia. Thats where the whole movie takes place. I dont want to spoil the rest of the movie. Get the unrated version. It has some nudity but I think its better then the theatrical release.

What a waste of time

Epic Movie

I highly recommend you don't waste your time (or money) renting or buying this film, it is terrible. Wow... I didn't think spoof movies could get any worse than Date Movie (which was decent, but the worst spoof film I'd seen to date) but Epic Movie takes the cake.

Epic Movie gets my vote for the worst movie of the last 10 years, seriously, it is that bad.

A Waste of Time and Money

I liked the Scary Movie spoofs and was looking for wad to watching this one. What a disapointmnet. This has to be one of the worst movies ever made. Humerous, but predictable

Entertaining, especially to watch with friends, but definitely not the funniest spoof movie ever made. I watched the unrated version and nothing seemed outrageous enough to be "unrated".

10 movies from the Golden Age of Decency!!

My wife claimed this as her own. She might let me watch them as well. Wonderful DVD at a wonderful price!!

Alright Movie, Not Worth A 2nd Watch

This movie was great the first time I saw it, but the humor is expended after you've seen it once already.
