I once used unbranded cartridges in my Epson photoprinter - disaster, the prints were dreadful. Now I only used genuine Epson carts, which give me excellent results.

The cost of home printing

The hugely devalued pound since Brexit makes imported goods very expensive, including already costly printer inks. Changing cartridges also required two print head clean cycles. I have since then printed about 15 mono and colour pages, and the black cartridge is showing 50% used. When a set of cartridges costs more than £70, that is a HUGE cost per page. The real deal at reasonable cost

Original Epson cartridges .. now far too expensive

Considering how many other Epson cartridges have now superseded these ones, these are far too expensive. Cheaper to buy a new printer, but this one is a good one so I continue with it.

Genuine is best

I find that genuine inks give the best results. I have tried non genuine and have had lots of problems, the printer does not like them, you can't tell when the ink is nearly finished, the colours differ and the qualities not as good. It may be more pricey but it is worth it.Read full review...
