I have tried dozens of different string ...

I have tried dozens of different string brands, thickness, and designs over 30+ years of playing. I really like the Hybrids because you get the thicker E,A, and D strings along with thinner unwound strings making bending easier without losing any bottom end. I have landed on the .009 to .046 simply because they are easier on my fingers, but still sound great.Read full review

Light Top - Heavy Bottom

Great for my Stratocasters - sturdy bottom and easy bending in the treble range.
They were around in the 70s and 80s known as Light Top - Heavy Bottom and
then I could not find them any longer - glad they are back in one set, without having
to mix 2 sets, even though the left over heavy top light bottom that remain would fit
right on a Les Paul that would have a strong bass and mid-range response, and can use
a bit more boost in the treble range.

Great strings at a great value!

I've been using Ernie Ball strings for 10 years. In the last year I started using the Hybrids and I love them! Couple the amazing quality with the great deal offered here and it's a "no brainer!" Highly recommend it!Read full review

Great strings at an even better price

You can't beat this deal! Ernie Ball strings have always been my go to set of strings. The 10 pack is quite the value. Most times, these will go for 9 bucks or more for a set. Getting 10 at this price is stupid good. Hybrids are a perfect gauge for my style. Not too light and heavy enough on the bottom for great feel and tone. I'll be back for more when these are done. That's for sure. USA made ensures top qualityRead full review

Feel good and sound good

Play-ability, that is the name of the game. What is your style? players with big hands tend to use higher action, lower action requires thinner strings or else you get buzz and also, lower action tends to have less sustain.

All of the comments I've made can be argued both ways. It comes down to your style, the fret height and your finger strength.

Ernie Ball 9-46 Hybrid has been a go to for me for years.

With 5+ decades of playing guitar started with Ernie ball. Through the years I’d try Dadarrio, GHS and DR and always went back to Ernie ball. I get a long life, consistency and durability that I didn’t get from the others. My opinion. The 9-46 hybrid really work for me. Thats what I’m sticking with. Read full review

Great strings at a good price

I'm sure there are better strings out there with all the coated and new processes to improve strings.
But at the end of the day if your looking for a good reliable string look no further. Clapton's been using EB's forever. I've been using these for 15yrs or so and have been happy with the product. Easy to play, they stay in tune without breaking. The only downfall is the longevity. They don't last as long as I would like them to, but when you own more than 10 guitars you need a economical solution. These work for me. Give them a shot, it won't break the bank.Read full review

The goods !!!

Great tone, feel, and comfort even after playing for hours. I've used EB Slinky's for years, veered off path and tried new brands but always came back to the Ernie Ball strings. Excellent value and quality.Read full review

There are strings and then there's Hybrids

I like 9's, but find the 6th,(E)string is too thin, (42). That's where the Hybrids come in. Instead, the 6th strong is now a 46, like what comes in a pack of 10-46. To my ears, it's like having the best of both worlds at your fingertips. If you haven't tried them, I suggest you do. You will never look back.Read full review
