Awesome little grafter!

Live alone, hate washing up - especially knowing there's a machine out there that does it for you! Saw this but weirdly it's more expensive than some full size ones! then saw one refurbished for half the price. You would NEVER KNOW it's that perfect!

So not only a great machine but check out where I bought it from & save yourself a bunch of notes! They had loads of appliances in there, just as perfect as mine! A reasonable budget "Table Top" Dishwasher.

We bought an Essentials CDWTT15 compact dishwasher to replace a rather old and failing Bosch compact dishwasher.

From the pictures the machine appears to be a low priced variant of a common design/build so this review may apply (in part or in whole) to some of the other variants, including some of the more expensive ones.

The machine does the job fairly well, turning out clean dishes and cutlery.

Pros:
1) It does have a reasonable range of well documented programmes/wash cycles with clear indication of which one is selected or active.
2) You can stop the machine after a cycle has started, perhaps to add a forgotten item, re-start it and it will resume OK.
3) The User Guide appears fairly well written, well illustrated and is easily understood although the use of the machine (particularly loading/stacking the machine) seems a little over complex at first.
4) The machine is pretty quiet, even a little quieter than the (over 20 year old) Bosch which it replaced.

Cons:
1) The machine doesn't have any indication of how far it is through the wash cycle which is a bit of a nuisance but it does "chirp" nicely when the wash cycle is complete. This is unlike older dishwashers with an old style electro-mechanical rotary controller which clearly indicated wash cycle progress. Could this be a bit of a backward design step?.
2) The machine doesn't remember the previously selected programme/wash cycle through power off and always defaults to the (192 minute!) "Eco" programme on power up yet it is recommended to turn power off when not in use. Hmm!
3) The machine needs to be loaded in precisely the right order to get everything in, perhaps better to not attempt to fully load it. From loading pictures of many similar models, this would appear to be a common drawback but was never a problem with our old Bosch machine.
4) It does not dry as well as the old Bosch, especially the Cutlery Holder with its flat topped handle which is regularly found with water lying on it. (Simple bad design here, the handle should have had an inclined top to encourage water to run off.)
5) According to the User Guide, and not published in the sales literature, the machine requires a large amount of free space around it so, after you bought it, you may find that it is unsuitable for installation/enclosing within kitchen units. I think it would better be described as a "Table or Counter Top ONLY Dishwasher" and NOT be described as a "Compact Dishwasher" if the User Guide installation instructions are correct.
6) Without a door release catch to allow the door to be opened in a frictionless manner, when you pull the door open, the whole machine can lurch forward as you overcome the catch resistance. (At least it hasn't fallen on the floor, YET!)
7) Large(ish) dinner plates ( 254mm (10")) are not easily accommodated. If you use a lot of dinner plates larger than 254mm diameter perhaps you should buy a different dishwasher.Read full review
