Prolongs the life of flat roofs

I have used this for many years on both older and brand new felt roofs. It needs stirring well (initially and during application) so that it goes a gold colour. It then goes silver a few seconds after application. Easy to apply to flat or gently sloping surfaces. Harder on steeper roofs but was ok on the pitch roof of my garden shed. Very good coverage.
The silvering dramatically reduces the heating up of the felt on sunny days and the related expansion and contraction that causes cracks in the felt. Slightly bituminous so will fill small cracks. It probably more than doubles the life of a felt roof especially if done every 4 or 5 years. My 18 year old roof still looks good.Read full review

Great product and a worthwhile investment

Used the Black Jack reflective bitumen paint on a car port roof just over twenty years ago.
Didn't bother with chippings or green mineral felt, just three layers of standard roofing felt each layer overlapped then two coats of Black Jack. It makes a tremendous difference to the lifespan of a flat roof. normal life span is anywhere between 10 to 20 years, and mine is over 20yrs old.
I've just applied a full coat of the Black Jack and looks as good as it did when first done, really should have done a recoat after ten years and at under £30 well worth the investment.
It's very easy to apply as it's quite thin, roller is best goes on a goldish brown colour and within a minute the aluminium in it comes to the surface leaving the highly reflective finish.
One 5ltr tin did the whole roof 3 x 13 mtrs long, so 33 square mtrs, I can highly recomend this product, it can be used on other parts of a roof such as lead flasings or anywhere there is heat/cold expansion/contraction issues.Read full review

Black Jack Solar reflective paint.

I used this paint on the top of my garage. I used a large paint tray and a long handled roller. It went on as smooth as silk, spread exceedingly well and the job was done very quickly. Good sealant for roofing felt.

I have used this product before (that's why I have re-purchased it).
