I never get tired of watching this movie. I’ve watched it at least 50 times when I had internet and TV but now I just watch DVDs. I hadn’t seen it for about a year so I ordered it so I could continue watching it. Based on a true story and I find it very entertaining. Exciting true story

The scenery was impressive, and the action stuck close to the actual events. I was familiar with the true story, so when each of the many characters was introduced by name, I immediately knew that person's fate. If you're unfamiliar with the 1996 Everest tragedy, researching it first will prove a spoiler. On the other hand, there are so many climbers and each is introduced so briefly that some of the emotional impact may be lessened if you go into it --- like the climbers themselves! --- COLD. No fictional characters were added, so no phony romances or murders, just the facts, which are dramatic enough. If you're not into mountaineering, you may shake your head over the seeming stupidity of people paying $70,000 to crawl around in the snow while coughing up blood. If you understand the lure of extreme sports, this will touch your heart, no explanation necessary. Read full review
