Sturdy,
Walk or run on this well built treadmill. It is nice and smooth and the adjustable magnetic resistance works great. I expect that this treadmill will last us a long time. I researched the bearings and see that they are common bearings. Can get 10 of them for under fifteen dollars on eBay. So if those wear out it won't be a problem. (not really expecting problems there but from reading reviews on manual treadmills the bearings giving out seem to be a possibility. I am a mechanic so that wouldn't be a stretch for me.) It is simple to use - just get on and start walking or running. It is best to hang onto the handles but possible to let go if you get a steady pace going. I recommend this one.Read full review

Excellent Treadmill
I bought my Exerpeutic 100XL Treadmill 10 days ago. It was easy to assemble and well built. I had never owned a manual treadmill before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The price was exceptionally good and it says it can handle up to 325 pounds, so I thought I would give it a try.
I weigh 270 pounds and it handled my weight very easily. When I first got on it it was like pushing a lawn mower while walking in sand. Yikes! I placed a 3/4 thick strip of plywood under the bar where you can adjust the angle lowering it from 8 degrees to about 6. Much better. It still offers plenty of resistance but is much more balanced.
I have it set up in the living room next to the couch. It is very quiet so I am able to watch TV with my wife without having to crank up the sound. I try to walk at least 30 minutes per day and after just 10 days I have already lost 4 pounds.
Before you decide whether you like it or not give it at least a week or two. You will find that your muscles will get used to it and you will be more comfortable using it. Don't forget to stretch before and after you use it. Enjoy!Read full review

My walking treadmill
The picture does not do it any justice, put a motor on it and you'd think you had one of those professional models. I was amazed when I got it setup. I am 5'7 and I was worried if it would be a short stride walkin on this treadmill. I can keep a long and consistent walking stride. The 3 inclines suprised me as well. With this being manual it makes you work you don't get to pace on a motor ran belt (I like that part). I did put it together myself (female here....sigh you might want to find a friend) plus side it is majority put together in the box. you have to put on the console the wires are already ran through the rails all you have to do is plug them in and put in the 2 batteries (they give you) for the console readings. The heartrate sensors are pretty good another surprise. Lastly it folds up so if you have a place to push up against a wall you'll be good on saving space if you needed. Overall, I am just happy and tickled pink with this purchase. I wanted a strong manual WALKING, yes this is only a WALKING treadmill and this was the one for me.Read full review

durable men's manual walking style treadmill
Unit is attractive and durable enough for home use, as well as any commercial gym. There are only about a dozen or so manual walking style treadmills available today, and pretty much all of them are designed to fit your "average" sized woman at about 5'5" tall / 150 pounds / with a size eight shoe. The Exerpeutic 100XL is the only manual walking style treadmill available today that is specifically designed to accommodate the "average" man, who is more like 6'0" tall / 220 pounds / with a size eleven shoe. The reason is that the walking belt is both longer and wider on the (more-expensive) men's treadmills, than on the (less-expensive) women's treadmills. The women can most certainly train on the men's treadmills, but not the other way around. Additionally, this manual walking style treadmill is intended for brisk walking only. Any attempt at either actually jogging or running will quickly throw the walking belt out of it's proper alignment, which comes pre-set at the factory.Read full review

low profile when folded
i just love this manual treadmill. i have had both hips replaced and some days still have a limp, so being able to walk at my own pace with a limp is better than trying to keep up with a motorized one. it's very lightweight and easy to fold up. and has a very low profile when folded since the handle bars also fold down. i just love it !Read full review

Great manual treadmill at a bargain price.
Very high quality. Goes together well if you insert all screws before tightening. Works well having a precision feel. I keep it near my desk and use it in 1/10th mile increments throughout the day to keep from sitting too much. I highly recommend this treadmill.Read full review

well built and sturdy
very nice machine with good features. This is not an electric machine. It is a you machine. you set the pace and you do the work. which I personally like. can't turn it on and toss yourself across the room.Read full review
