Not too impressive.

FIFA 08 for Xbox 360 hasn't changed much from last year. The graphics and sound are great! The soundtrack of the game is pretty good. I like the international variety of music. The graphics are also pretty good. However, the players look fake. As compared to Madden 08 and NCAA 08, the athletes look horrible. They look short & wide.
As far as gameplay goes, I'm not very impressed. There is a delay on the pass and the players don't react very well to the ball. The AI is not very good. The Manager mode is still pretty good. I like the variety of teams and clubs available on here. There are literally hundreds of clubs you can choose to manage.
There's a lot of room for improvement in FIFA 08. This game is good enough to keep a futbol (soccer) fan happy for a while. Unfortunately, I don't see this game having a great lasting effect! FIFA Soccer 08

Last year's FIFA was supposedly built from the ground up for the Xbox 360, though the game still had yet to surpass the standards set by the franchise's entries on the previous generation of consoles. For FIFA 08, EA Sports promised to refine last year's effort while delivering a host of new gameplay modes and features. The result is that this year's FIFA plays a substantially different game of football, thanks mostly to an increased difficulty level and a sense of decreased pace. The raft of new skill moves means the game rewards practice and perseverance, but it could be argued that this makes it the least accessible FIFA to date. Thankfully, though, FIFA 08 wraps its new simulation feel in a superbly presented and very well-rounded package. EA Sports has made a lot of claims about FIFA's new game modes and features, and they've been flagged up in the game's menu system so series regulars know where to start. At the top of the list is the new Be-a-Pro mode, which puts you in the studded boots of a single footballer rather than an entire team. The default side-on aerial camera perspective shifts to an over-the-shoulder view, and you're awarded or deducted points based on how well you serve the team. This means keeping the player in position, passing the ball around, and--depending on your position--making tackles or scoring goals. While controlling one player in a team of 11 might seem strange, it's an interesting, compelling new take on gameplay. Although it's tempting to run up the field and shoot at goal regardless of your position, the only way to succeed in this mode is to play your part in the team. There can be long periods where you see little of the ball, particularly if you're a defender in a good team or an attacker in a poor one, but on the whole it's a successful experiment on the part of EA Sports.

The over-the-shoulder perspective of this mode shows off another of the big new features in FIFA 08, the trick system. By pulling on the left trigger and using the analog sticks, you can perform a variety of moves that, with enough practice, have the power to cut swathes through the opposition. Simple step-overs and flicks can be executed by flicking the right stick in one direction, while more complicated moves can be orchestrated with a series of movements. A turn can be pulled off by rotating the stick in a circular motion, while an overhead flick is a complicated three-move combo that's more dependent on timing. Faster and more skilful players can pull this move off better than slower ones, and top-class players such as Ronaldinho can even launch an accurate volley shot off the flick.

In addition to the Be-a-Pro mode, FIFA has a variety of other ways to play a game of football. The kick-off mode is the place for a quick practice match with up to three friends gathered round your TV, though there are online equivalents with both ranked and unranked matches. The long-term challenge of FIFA 08 comes from the numerous tournaments that have been packed into the game's offline and online modes. Pretty much every major competition from the major domestic leagues has been included, plus you can create a custom tournament to make things such as continental or world cups that may happen in future. Predictably, EA's seperate World Cup franchise means that this tournament isn't included in the game, but there's nothing stopping you from setting one up yourself.Read full review...

This is my first time to purchase on eBay , and reason why I choose 5 starts because it pretty work of course but it was little dirty on disc but I was very interested to buy FIFA 08 because I really want to play you know , but I know is kinda old but I really like to play on tournaments in Liga MX so that right , I buy it .

Best soccer game to date!

This game is AMAZING!! I really liked FIFA 07 on the XBOX, but I bought a 360 and I wanted a soccer game for the system, so I bought FIFA 08. The first time I played it, I honestly didn't care for it that much because it was SO different. However, as soon I got the hang of it, the game became extremely entertaining. Great manager mode--I love the fact that you can improve the specific attributes of all you players, so if you think your striker is too slow, you can put all the experience points into speed and acceleration. There's always a really good player you can pick up in free agency for much cheaper than buying them in the transfer market. For some reason, Lionel Messi, Puyol, and Evra were free agents in my manager mode, but who's complaining? There's just so many ways to score--long shots, crosses, corners, lucky bounces, breakaways, you name it. Pretty good online mode. It's just annoying when someone quits early, but that's in all XBOX games with online. The only thing I really think could send the game over the top is if in future versions the crowd moves and is interactive with play...when the home club scores, GO CRAZY! Jump up and down! Clap your hands??!! Something... The game has a great soundtrack (like all FIFA games do). I even have some of the songs on my ipod. Well, this is the best FIFA game to date.Read full review...

i like fifa07 better, this one is too tedious to set a simple game.
I want to practice by myself and the computer but the instructions do not show how t odo it. ha ve to use the pull out menus from the screen , ntil i find the right one.

I'm not even into soccer, but this is great!

I'm not into sports, but since moving to Germany with my American made Xbox 360, I've been looking for something my 12 year old brother-in-law and I could play together.

FIFA 08 is an excellent game, almost brand new, and with numerous excellent features to it. The controls are great, whether you're a FIFA n00b like me or a 'profi', as the Germans say, like my little bro-in-law.

The graphics are naturally wonderful, though the stadium looks a little 2001.

The choice of teams is amazing... just don't try and be patriotic and pick the US team!Read full review...

FIFA 08 not the best

Fifa 08 is not the best soccer game on the market. The controls are a bit out of the ordinary and the play choices are a little sub par. Their is no regular franchise, but only a single season or manager mode. Personally, I like to just play a franchise and not worry about salary cap, drafting and all that jazz. Overall though, it is a pretty fun game and can be found pretty cheap. So if you are cheap like me, this will more then fill your need for a soccer game.Read full review...

fifa is that kush

This game is sick. I've been rollin with '05 for a minute so its taking me a minute to get used to freestyle and offensive strategy but I'm really enjoying it. The little freestyle mode at the beginning and while stuff is loading is sick. 'dinho is the man. Everything went well - on time, well packaged, etc.

Excellent game

Usually the year to year changes in fifa games involve minor tweaks and roster updates, maybe some nicer graphics, not the case here! EA completely changed up the gameplay, allowing you to take much greater control of the players. Manager mode is greatly expanded and has shorter sim times.
