But apprehensive at first as been a Sky TV customer for years. But took the decision that Netflix and Free Sat would provide us the TV we want with free viewing combined with monthly low prices of Netflix. Received the box quickly and just swapped over the sky box connections and enter wifi password then I had a great tv choice and fantastic picture. In fact I just kept it installed and removed my Sky Q box ready for its collection in two weeks time. Job done. Hope this review helps any other make their choice. Read full review

Built to a price

Compared with the Humax box that preceded it this box is poor. The app won’t pair with the box - work in progress they say. The remote seems to operate every other box in the house and no alteration is possible. Dolby audio has been abandoned. No built-in support for the HLG that the BBC propose to use for 4K broadcasts. Very easy to set up although i did have to get my sky dish updated before i could record other channels. Not a problem and now very happy with my freesat box. Highly recommended

Pairing

The unit is easy to set but I have had trouble trying to set up the pairing to my IPhone and I have still not been successful I have tried suggestions from Freesat tech team but to no avail waiting for a return call fingers crossed Read full review

I’d prefer Sky but too expensive. HORRIBLE user interface

The new interface is absolutely horrible. You can’t now open stacked lists of planned pgms so you can’t see what will clash if you play live channels when 2 things are recording. First box had permanent hard drive crash after 2 years. Only good thing is no monthly subscription.Read full review

Our TV works really well and we have a wide range of choices beyond Free Sat with Netflix, ITV Hub, Itunes, etc.
The remote works OK but buttons could be better placed for logical and easy use in the dark.

Great sky q replacement

Got rid of sky q recently, this is a cheaper alternative to get your broadcast channels. It connects to the old sky cables and did not require a LNB change (for me anyway)

Can use a number of on demand apps, the usual Netflix and prime video. Does not currently have the app for YouTube kids or Disney +, but you can get these on a cheap fire stick. Read full review
