Necessary to read the instructions - then all is well!

This can get poor reviews. Read the instructions and do not use a dry mix or coarse sand. Use fine sand and make a well blended mix of mortar similar to soft mashed potato. There will then be no problems whatsoever. Easy to clean if you do it promptly. Best performed outside with a hose and soft brush. Have used this twice already and without any problems at all. Great for pointing up with lime and a brushed finish. Very pleased. Read full review

Great Idea, but not so good execution

No doubt this is a solid piece of kit, and right for some projects. However trying to use a cement mortor for re pointing was impossible. The plunger gets a few good squirts but then just compacts the mixture, squeezes all of the water out which makes it impossible to get anything out of the end! This grout gun really saved a lot of time and mess. You just mix the grout 'not too thick or it goes off too quickly' apply to the joints. Let it dry a little , then run your finger down the joint. Let dry a little more the wash up any excess. So easy. No more endless buckets of clean water to wash up the excess. Full recommended. Read full review
