Faithfull FPPCHAINSS Electric Chainsaw Sharpener

Does the job

When I received the Faithfull chainsaw sharpener I had a backlog of four blunt blades to sharpen so set to work. The tool is easy to set up and the instructions are clear. It sharpened the blades ok, though I have yet to use one of them.
The good points: light, copmpact, straight forward, quiet, smooth.
The not so good points: Structural strength is lacking - the mouldings would could be more substantial. The tooth indexing stop flexes slightly whereas it really needs to be solid, however the effect of this is overcome with practise. Overall a good little tool for home use.Read full review

Basic, but good design.

Easy to set up and use. Would benefit from a small LED light to shine on the chain. The thumb wheel setting the chain position is offset and does allows the chain to slide freely when required. On Silverline, the thumb wheel is intrusive.Read full review

More sharpener than you'd expect for the price, if you're prepared to set it up carefully.

Having read others' reviews before buying, I knew this wasn't going to be of the same quality as models costing 10x as much. But knowing this I set it up carefully and was easily able to get an accurate sharpening on my first chain, which saved me a good long while with hand files!Read full review

Excellent results

Does its job quickly and accuratley once set up.I mounted it on a piece of wood 100mm square and then put this it in the vice to use it.It would be improved by fitting a work light like that found on a drill--I had to shine a torch on the chain for acccurate sharpening.Read full review

Works well, but needs fettling.

This sharpener was very cheap for what it does. After some setting up, I found that the chain stop part needed a bit of filing to make it tight enough. It was wobbly as supplied, and would have caused inaccurate location of the tooth.
Once this was done, I was able to sharpen two chainsaw blades easily.Read full review

Great little tool

Quick and easy to set up and use. Only down side is that it has to be fixed overhanging a bench to use easily. Over came this by mounting it on a block of wood that I can hold in the vice while I sharpen my chains and then just remove it from the vice and store it on the shelf.Read full review

Does the job fairly well.

The sharpener worked as expected. I felt the plastic construction allowed for a small amount of deviation with cutting depth if you pushed a little hard. Generally though very good.

Compact and Quick

Overall this machine is very good for the price it does do the job. The machine itself is a bit on the flimsy side but it’s not what I would call industrial. Having said that good for the price .
