Something new to the horror genre

Fatal Frame is definatly one of the better survival horror games out there. Also the fact its based on an actual story makes it even cooler. After her brother goes missing inside of a creepy old mansion, you step into the shoes of a young japanese girl named Miku. Who later goes looking for her brother inside of the mansion while fighting off hundreds of angry spirits along the way. What really sets this game apart from the others is the fact our main heroine doesnt use a gun, a sword, or flashy fighting moves which we commonly see in horror games to defend herself. Instead Miku is armed with a simple old camera which she uses to ward off the evil spirits that try to attack her. Fatal Frame is by far much better than Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Siren, and many other horror games ive played before. There were a couple of minor things that bugged me tho. The camera sometimes isnt very responsive and could be a bit frusterating to use. Especially when there is more than one spirit attacking you. Also Miku runs really slow. Scare with time!

I love the introduction of this game when Miku says "My brother and I, we used to see things the normal people cannot see." Then the Tecmo logo in the screen. Fatal Frame was the first game that I played in PS2, now I am getting it for Xbox, the history I am sure is the same, I expect better graphics like Resident Evil did. Well, let's talk about game: If you like japanese culture, japanese girls and ghosts Fatal Frame is your title. Mafuyu goes to the Himuro Mansion for Mr. Takamine, and from there place he do not returns. His sister, Miku goes for him, there, she finds a girl named Kirie the most powerful ghost of the house, after get coursed by Kirie, Miku have to find his brother and get out of the mansion sooner as she could, now her life depends on this. You cannot go wrong playing in a dark place with the right sound, its like to be in a horror thriller. Of course if you have any heart desease, it's not recommended. ^_^Read full review...

Great game, but high difficulty level

I am two thirds through the game and enjoying every minute! The graphics are astounding for a X-Box game! The game play is revetting. However a word to the wise. There is no difficulty level you can set. Do not, and I repeat do not, be so naive as to think you are going to find a lot of health potions. The only way you can survive is to save health potions. You are going to need to do a lot of starting from where you left off to regain health potions that you lost. You need to have at least three full lives potions at all time to survive. That being said it is a great game!
Update: Just completed the game! Another word to the wise. The saves are frequent and closely spaced so do not hesitate to start a section again and again. The more you play a particular section the better adept you will at defeating the enemy the second or even third time through. Also the more upgrade points you will accumulate re-doing a section. Also do not keep saving over the same game. This way you can always start off at your second best save in a section rather then having to start the section all over again. There is a very good walkthrough on u-tube by Sakurakikuyuna. It is for the PS2 but works fine for the 360. If you are one of those persons who tend to cuss when playing video games I guarantee you will be cussing up a storm. This game will really try your patience. Fatal Frame is SCARY!!!

I was looking for a moody, atmospheric video game that would really scare me. Not just startle me with stuff jumping out of shadows--but get me in a creepy, tingly kind of mood like an old-fashioned horror movie. FATAL FRAME did it!! It tells a neat story of a girl trying to find information about her missing brother in a delapidated house--and in the process runs into ghosts and has visions of what may have happened to him. Big difference from all other video games--you have no weapon!! No gun, no laser, no fire--just a camera and film. Great fun and creepiness--shut off the lights, put on some headphones and be prepared to be scared!! One negative: you die too easily and then you start over--kind of a bummer. A really creepy game from beginning to end.

This game will play with your mind. It's not a horror game that you shoot with guns or weapons. You use a camera to shoot the ghosts and the concept is to take a good shot at them to free the ghosts from the house. Its very creepy as it is based on a true story. I love this game!!!!!!! Great Game! Great Price!

I got this game to replace one I misplaced during a move. I now have 2 copies and that is just fine with me because I love this game. I am a horror film addict and this game scares the heck out of me. Which is a good thing.
I recommend this game to anyone that likes off the wall fright!

Crazy scary game. Def worth buying if ya enjoy Resident Evil or Silent Hill

LOVE this game! I had it back when it first came out and it's a lot creepier than I remember as a kid. My adrenalin starts pumping every time the weird music starts playing as I frantically try to locate the enemy then...AHHHHHHHH!!!! HES RIGHT BEHIND ME!!!!!!! Time well spent....for playing a video game!

I've thoroughly enjoyed this game! It is by far one of the scariest and suspenseful games that I've played in quite some time!
What really makes it so captivating, is that it's based on a true story, so you can become totally immersed in it, knowing that nothing is going to happen to YOU!
When playing, dont forget to breathe.
