Darker sounding if that’s what you’re seeking
These pickups would be a best solution for an overly bright amp. They don’t have a reverse wound middle as they are vintage. If you’re playing through a Marshall amp or BassBreaker with a ceramic speaker I’d pass on these pickups and get something with more chime. These pickups sound best played through a classic voiced Fender amp or Vox amp. The 54’ CS pups are exactly what they say they are. Higher bass than highs or mids. Arguably the best strat pick ups
Not sure why the first year the strat was released still has some of the best features. But it does. Great pickups. Compared to Fat 50's, I prefer the pure rawness of these.

I don't believe they were defective at all possibly were used with blenders instead of traditional pots which is a tone I don't like either hooked em up with B500k volume and 2 A500k tone pots with .05 mfd and .086 pots sounds amazing love them they are definitely genuine fender pupsRead full review...
