Sound great, feel nice on the fingers and good value for the money.

I just purchased a new Fender PJ Bass that came with Round Wound strings. I use Flat Wounds on my Hofner 500/1 Bass and love them, so I decided to replace the Round Wounds on the PJ with these Fender Flat Wounds and really like the "bassier" (less bright sounding) tone and easy playability. They fit perfectly and are a great value for the money. I noticed they are not as "shiny" in color as Rotosound Strings that I'm used to, but they play very well and actually look good with the black bass. No complaints here. Thank you Fender! Fabulous flatwounds

These strings are great IMHO. I use them on my Jazz and P basses. Easy to play on. I play with a pick and these allow for a smoother almost fingered sound. I suspect they may be wound for Fender by D'Addario because of the colored brass end pieces. Could be wrong. Either way, great price on a really good set of strings.Read full review

For the $$, best flatwounds out there.

I use Thomastik infield flats on my Hofners, and Gibson EB-2, however @ $70.00 a set (4 string), can't afford them on my J's & P basses. The longevity of the Fender flats doesn't compare, however. they are great strings (flatwounds) and have ALWAYS delivered the crisp thump, that is imperative for my style, and music preference. P bass sound from a dream

Put them on my 1987 MIK P bass bullet, decided to give it a try to Fender cause these are the strings that were originally on the all Fender basses back in a day...Instantly the bass came alive, you can dial any tone from early records, motown, jazz , funk... just name it. ( Pink floyd - Money , Clash - Rock the Casbah , Queen - Under pressure...the list is endless )Also when I made a couple of home recordings in Reaper, find out that these strings dont need a compression or at least just a little bit.Curently I am working with a band that plays 60-70s Israeli rock so these strings are perfect match...Read full review

Awesome on a Fender Mustang!

I've always used Fender flatwounds on my 67' Mustang and these strings give you that perfect P-BASS sound of R and B. Even though they're long scale they're perfect on this short scale Bass.

All Fender strings are superb.

Flatwounds produce a frequency range more akin to an upright. While the roundwounds produce a percussive slap, my music is far from that genre.
