Football DVD

I bought this item first because I`m a football fan, but also because it`s about my favorive club Arsenal.

Like the story, and to see how fanatic some fans can be. But think the DVD`s should be in an ordinary DVD cover. This one came in just a pocket for the disc itself.

Think I bought it for a nice price on the auction, and that`s also a good reason to have it.

Fever Pitch (DVD 2004)

I love Fever Pitch. Classic Nick Hornby and a must for all obsessives everywhere. I would imagine that this story holds a lot of memories for Arsenal fans, but the theme is much more than football and can be applied to any long-term love affair with any topic. Colin Firth depicts this fabulously and his suffering partner, played by Ruth Gemmell can only wonder in amazement at the boyish allegance.

It's obviously based around true events, so history will tell you what happened in the real world, but I won't spoil the story line for anyone.

Just go get a copy and watch - feel the nostalgia, judge, smile, feel the frustration, laugh at the old Arsenal gags and, above all sympathise with all the characters for their plight.

When you've done that. Make sure you go get the book. Then go get About a Boy and High Fidelity. Then watch the films. Nick Hornby is the King of Thirty-something angst!!

Story of a football season with a love story

I bought this film on ebay as I seen it before and enjoyed watching it, if you are a football fan in general you can really understand the mindest of Colin Firth's charachter if you are not then it is an enlightment to understand football fans.
The film is something that can be easily watched time and time again and you can still feel the same excitment as the film reaches its climax of the 1989 league championship.
