Fierce Creatures is a Very Funny Film
Fierce Creatures is a very funny film about the goings-on in an English private zoo. I had already seen this film on television, and was very pleased when it was availabkle to me on Ebay.John Cleese and Jamie Lee Curtiss are very funny in this hilarious film. It is one of the funniest films I have purchased and watched in a long time. Well Worth what I spent on itRead full review...
Fierce Creatures Review
When media baron Rod McCain (Kevin Kline) buys Marwood Zoo in England, he sends over his son Vince (also Kline) and the sexy Willa Weston (Jamie Lee Curtis) to ensure that it turns over a 20% profit. The zoo is being run by McCain employee Rollo Lee (John Cleese), who has instigated a policy that only fierce creatures should be on display. When Vince sets up advertising hoardings and arranges bogus celebrity sponsorship, the zookeepers, led by insect specialist 'Bugsy' Malone (Michael Palin), revolt. John Cleese reassembles the cast of 'A Fish Called Wanda' for this film, described as an 'equal' rather than a sequel.Read full review...
A worthy successor to Wanda
I love this movie for the ensemble cast - from the original Wanda cast (Cleese, Curtis, Kline & Palin) to Ronnie Corbett & Robert Lindsay as the bewildered zoo keepers. There are some dips in the story but the payoff at the end is hysterically funny. The cast are all exceptional. I recommend to all that loved Wanda and anyone who just likes a good comedy farce.Read full review...
Fierce Laughs
More laughs than the original team's movie "a Fish Called Wanda". From the John Cleese sex addict thread (unknown to John though), to Kevin Kline's feeling sever competion for Jamie Lee Curtis's affections from a gorrila. Oh and a Rupert Murdoc impression that makes Murdoc look normal, do not miss the Sheep.Read full review...
Liked it so much I've bought copies for friends too
Plays on stereotypes of American/Australian and especially British, but a lot of fun in the usual Palin/Cleese et al style. The scene where Cleese gets caught apparently with three women in bed is very funny.Read full review...
Better than its predecessor
Although it was made by the same team as the hugely successful A Fish Called Wanda (but all playing different characters), it was never really very popular. But I thinks it really outshines it. It is a really funny, farcical comedy with some great comic performances. Was really good to see Ronnie Corbett make an appearance. Kevin Kline does have to be applauded for his role playing both parts of a father and son duo. And then, when the father dies, the son pretends to be the father. Very good. But my favourite performance does have to be Michael Palin. Just hilarious.Read full review...
