They do have their problems with early battery failure or false sensing (circuit board problems?), but they are guaranteed 5 years. Only FireAngel know what % fail.

Great smoke and heat detectors- interlinking is perfect
interlink of alarms works even in my granite house which is normally a problem for radio waves.
interlinking works fine with all alarms sounding when one triggers but pressing any test button silences all that have not triggered so you can find where it is.

The best option DIY smoke alarm
These fire angel alarms need no mains linkage but still all go off if any detects a fire. So you can have them in your shed, garage, workshop, home anywhere you may have a fire. No need for electricity. But once one detector is triggered then they all go off.
