A neat reliable CO detector essential around gas/coal/wood etc burners and stoves.
The product is just fine especially with its digital display. This is a replacement for an identical unit that was just over 7 years old and beginning to make itself known that it was replacement time - so the 7 year battery life claim is totally justified!
I had no problems with the previous unit so can only assume that this will be the case for the next 7 years. The unit is installed close to my non-condensing gas central heating boiler and now is sited at the recommended distance and height - such information is contained in the downloaded instruction manual which I would recommend you do if one is not supplied! In the manual it does describe how to test it for Carbon Monoxide detection so that you can be confident of its reliability.
There is a 'key' provided which is removed in order to activate the detector (i.e. connect to internally fitted battery). This can be replaced if you want to take it on your travels and reactivate at your destination which may be of interest to some.Read full review

Product seems OK but cannot be sure about its authenticity.
The product seems OK but it did not come in the manufacturers packing and there were no fixing screws,which should have been provided according to the fixing instructions. I had to print the fixing/operating instructions online as these were also not included and there was no guarantee included. These omissions make me a bit suspicious about the product and I cannot say for certain that it is good value and good quality. I therefore cannot recommend it.Read full review

WHAT PRICE A LIFESAVER
This is the second Fireangel carbon monoxide alarm that I have purchased; the first one having expired (dead battery) after very nearly seven years service. Did the first one save my life? NO, but it would have done had there been a leak from the boiler . . . . OF THE TYPE THAT YOU CANNOT SEE OR SMELL . . . . . but will surely kill you. Seems a good product and well made.
Can be fitted to a wall or ceiling or even free standing , so a variety of options there.
If wall or ceiling fitting however, although wall plugs and screws are supplied , there is no template for marking the position of the screws. This is quite critical ,as there is very little lee way on locating the screws into the back of the unit. They have to be accurately spaced to engage in the slots , so care is needed!Read full review

Boring but necessary
It seems to work as it should. I've not had a proper alarm so far but it responds to the test button, displays the temperature and shows the highest reading of CO that it has sensed. its a life saver
i had two smoke alarms fitted but because i had just a gas boiler, didn't think i'd need one, until i had my boiler yearly check, and was asked by the chap that check it and asked why i hadn't got one, i said i didn't need one, but you do, so if you think you don't need one, just think if you have a gas boiler what else do you need. i bought this and it arrived very fast. i would highly recommend you get one.Read full review

Suitably packaged, Arrived on time undamaged Have had these before and found them easy to install, Whilst the replaceable battery option would be cheaper, I think having a sealed battery removes the fuss, of having to get new batteries during the life of the unit. Peace of mind in a small gadget.
This is a great little CO detector. I had a previous one with no screen as we have several open fires in our house. The old one had replaceable batteries as against the non replaceable one in this but I believe the sensors go dud after a while so I didn't know if the old one was still working (can't check with car exhaust anymore as they are so clean!!!)
This new one shows average CO in the location over a period as well as alarming for high levels. It will alert you if you have been subject to low levels for a longer period or high levels for a short period. Obviously if you haven't been in the room it can be too cautious however that is a good thing if you take time to understand the display and alarms.
The slotted screw holes on the back will allow you to move it from room to room or to a caravan/boat/yurt.
Overall I am very happy with this product and it gives a lot of peace of mind.Read full review

This item has a LOUD warning sound. It is easy to set/fix in place. Simple test procedure, plus a VISUAL display. It has a long battery life & should last seven years.
