Safety first

Our smoke alarm came to the end of it's life (typically 10 years) so it needed replacement. Looking at the many brands available I decided in the end to contact our local fire service to ask their advice. They recommend The Fire Angel. I found one on Ebay and bought it. Its is really good quality and very easy to install. It has a ten year battery life so I have nothing to do except do a weekly test. I believe that you can't be too careful when it comes to household safety so I am delighted with the Fire Angel.Read full review

Installs/works well but short on battery life

Works well with minimal spurious alarms, ie does not go off every time you cook toast or fry food and once you have the original base plate fitted to the ceiling, a new replacement unit is very quickly installed on it.
However, two previous Fire angels, installed by the fire brigade, did not meet their stated life expectancy due to both of the battery's discharging within 4 years.

Easy to fit and will last for years.

Fitted immediately into the existing base plate for the fire brigade fitted Fire Angel alarms from years ago. The batteries had expired in the old ones.
