cool retro game with a different concept

Cool game. Was difficult to find in the states back in the day. Dug my old ps2 out of storage and have been on a little retro binder. Game play is simple but exciting.

Often Overlooked Gem

I was a volunteer firefighter for about 6 years. Firefighter F.D. 18 is not a training sim by any means but, the gameplay elements do a fantastic job of making you feel the realism of the events depicted in this game.

The story drama is corny, but understandable with the story. The controls are great and the graphics are great for the system.

This game is often overlooked, but has started to garner attention again. Cult Classic I suppose. If you're a ps2 collector, or just looking for something different to play, definitely check Firefighter F.D. 18 out.Read full review...

One of the best unknown games

I'm typically a sports gamers (nba live, ncaa football) with the occasional dosage of GTA type games so going after this title was a little outside of my box. I am so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone, although the game's age is shown with the graphics and cheesy voiceovers, the gameplay is fun and challenging. It's highly interactive with the controls of Firefighter McGregor (main character) and the surrounding situations. I haven't beat the game but I plan to do so within the next couple of weeks. I'm a parent of a 5 and 3 year old so free time is scarce. Anyhow, back on subject. If you are into challenging games that are like no other on the market, this is the game for you. I can only hope there are plans for a 2nd edition or a new game line altogether that attacks the Firefighting world.Read full review...

Playstation 2 Firefighter F.D. 18

This game is highly sought after by many professional firefighters mostly due to the marketing. Apparently this game had a very interesting marketing from other Playstation 2 games. My son-in-law had this game on his birthday wish list with the mention it would be very difficult to obtain. He and his other firefighters at his station had attempted to obtain this game for their game room at the fire house. They had no luck. I bought this for his birthday coming up in September. Will be glad to add to this review once they have had a chance to play and as professionals give me their impression. Finding this game on ebay and seeing already it was showing as RARE.

What I Think About The Game

I think this is a great game. It can be a great form of entertainment. I think the graphics are good even for their time. I think the realism which means the graphics was the most realistic when it came out. my son (now 18) got this game a few yrs. back and loved it, so much that it became "his favorite game ever." Very hard game to find these days. Got it a week or so ago, and he plays it like he did when he got the first copy (which was stolen from him).
One of our firefighter friends said it's a good way to learn the actual skills needed by a firefighter,that if he had his way, it would be used as a learning tool for those who were just getting in to the dept., of which my son is soon to join our local volunteer Fire Dept. Only wish I was good at games so I could enjoy it to. Plus if I were in better health, I would join F.D. and be right by his side.Read full review...

Firefighting for probies

this game has great graphics and life like effects. some of the fires and things done are made up crap but it helps the game out a little. i bought it cause i am a firefighter and thought it would be cool and it was. i think i will still stick to the real stuff though it is more intenseand a lot less fake. over all it is a good game that everyone should try.Read full review...

A neat little game. Kinda has a spin on the movie "Backdraft" Different than most POV games, yet has some similarities. Controls are rather simple. My 9 yr old son enjoys this game and having firefighters in my family its kind of a conversation piece in the house!!!! LOLRead full review...
