Clever, but...
The design and construction of this tool are very good, especially the geared drive to the cutter which makes the action SO much easier than my old lever pruner. It is also remarkably long at full extension, giving great access, though watching the branch into the jaws can be quite difficult unless one makes a point of trimming all lower branches first.
My only reservation relates to the poor finish of the slot the cutter-actuation tape runs through, which had sharp and rough edges. As a result, the woven tape caught on release, preventing the jaws from re-opening and causing the lower section of tape to come loose and get tangled up. Once those slot edges were smoothed, the tape ran through freely and the pruner worked very well indeed. If it weren't for this flaw (which might have been peculiar to mine), the standard of design, construction and finish would definitely merit a 5-star rating.Read full review

Fiskars telescopic cutter
I bought this based partly on Fiskars reputation but principally on the extension length (a massive 4m) my thoughts were that it would probably be unusable at that length but maybe ok at about 3m. To my surprise it worked perfectly at full extension very easy to cut up to 3mm branches even at full stretch. The biggest problem was getting the cut angle right at full height, you need to keep adjusting the head angle so you can see the blades properly.
Although very light you do need to be fairly strong to use this for any length of time as your arms quite quickly begin to ache.
All in all an excellent product, very well made and easy to use.Read full review

Brilliant piece of kit, very easy to adjust and operate.
I'm 65 and not as fit as I was. This is light enough to use at full stretch and I can reach almost everything without having to drag a ladder about. Small twigs are very easy. It is harder to cut the maximum 32mm ones, but it can be done. In common with others, I find the blade hard to see, so will be painting it bright orange.Read full review

Handy tool!
I bought this to trim a shrub that's about 20' tall and had grown all over the show. The branches I've been pruning are more twig like mind so haven't use it for thick branches yet. The extension length on this is perfect for my project! It's very easy to use and light weight.

Tree pruner
Good quality product, lighter than expected and great for pruning smaller branches. Over around 25mm dia the cutter can be hard work, especially high up, but nonetheless is very useful. Used to trim a Leylandii tree with many fresh growing branches with no problem. Would buy again, expect this will not be necessary though for quite a while. Spare parts available if ever needed.Read full review

Quality product
I was guided by the reviews of others when buying this and have not been disappointed. It's beautifully made and works really well. I have been using the traditional long handled pruners with the cord but get so angry with trying to control the cord and getting the head caught up in the tree because of the lever mechanism. This tool eliminates both frustrations. The only criticism is that it's quite hard to aim your cut because you can't easily the end and the old style pruner has a hook end which you can pull the branch if necessary before cutting to avoid dropping over the fence or something which I find useful.Read full review

Excellent product!
I am disabled and unsteady on my feet so buying this pruner was a bit of a blind gamble, however, my fears were unfounded as the fishers pruned is so very easy to use and it slices through branches like a hot knife through butter.
I really can't praise this enough but a friend and neighbour who does a lot of garden work and is used to the standard draw string tree pruner was well impressed with its ease of use compared to what he's used to.
Highly recommend this product!!Read full review

Very nearly perfect
Excellent product, well made but a bit pricey, but then I'm told by an experienced tree man that I have paid for lasting quality.
I would have preferred an anvil action and also it would be really useful if after making a cut that the branch end remained attached to the 'blade' so I could lift it away from the bush. As it is, I make the cut and then have to locate and fish the branch out as a separate action.Read full review

Tree Pruning
I bought these too late to do much until Autumn but I tried a few sample branches and was delighted with the ease in which they cut them. I did not have to apply any pressure. I cannot wait to have a good go with them later in the year. I am 77, female but they are not too heavy to use and the reach is excellent. DelightedRead full review

Easy to use, good design.
Light weight & well designed, it is easy to use saving time & money. Makes pruning safer as you do not need ladders. One disappointment was that whilst the cutting head is well designed, I found it requires some effort to prune plumb trees branches of 25mm diameter. Read full review
