works well
The unit works well for water changes and vacuuming live rock and gravel. It does not work well for vacuuming sand, You have to be careful on sand, it will stop the impeller, possibly damaging the unit. I sucked up too much sand and had to use a screwdriver to get the impeller to turn again. Unit works as advertised, just be careful if you use sand instead of gravel for you substrate. I would rate it 5 stars if it worked on sand.Read full review

Great for vacuuming gravel, not changing water.
I bought it to get rid of detritus out of the gravel. It does a great job for that! Tried to use the change water function for the hell of it - not so great. 4 stars either way.
