Replacement Liftgate Actuator

This went into a 2002 Ford Escape which has a different connector. The actuator is the same but I needed to cut the wire and connect it to the Ford harness. That said it works and is much easier than the hit or miss pressing of the unlock button or the coat hanger lock release I made.

Buy two, it won’t last forever

This is an easy swap out. For the escape you do have to make your own plug. I wasn’t able to find any other option for a new replacement. This is the third time I’ve replaced this, anticipate a couple of years tops. This time I replaced the Allen wrench screws with ones with a 3/8” head making turning the screws much easier. I also put wire connectors on the plug so it would be easier next time.Read full review...

Strong sounding actuator

Actuator sounds strong and works great once wires are spliced in with butt connectors. Fits in OEM location and new blue plunger works too.

Just make sure you have correct wire polarity otherwise it will work in reverse. Green wire to pink/black stripe and Yellow to pink/orange stripe.Read full review...

Worked for me

Got here ahead of schedule, pulled old one out and put in new. Connector didn't fit so just cut both connectors and used a butt crimp connector. Of course, check the lock/unlock direction first before crimping. Hopefully will last and better than buying an old used one.Read full review...

Direct replacement for 2002 Ford Escape

This is a direct replacement for my 2002 Ford Escape tailgate actuator. It’s been difficult to find these, and most of them available on EBay and elsewhere are pulled from used vehicles.

Attached photo shows the original actuator in my vehicle (didn’t take a photo of the new one installed). Everything fits and works properly.
