Performs well, but 3 pins means no PWM speed control

The addition of a case fan did make a noticeable increase in fan noise as I expected, but as this is a three pin fan there is no way of controlling it's speed from the motherboard based on temperature of load. I recommend that the fan be used in conjunction with the Zalman Fan Mate 2 Variable Fan Speed Controller, or the similar Gelid Solutions Fan Speed Controller. Read full review
