The only place to get the "un-echo-ized" mix!

This British budget two-fer from Music for Pleasure is, as of this writing, the ONLY place to get these two albums in their original, unfutzed-with form. In the early '60s, a slight amount of "echo" was added to these albums for a two-fer release on LP. The new tape was labeled "master," and as a result, every reissue of these albums on CD has been from this "echo-ized" tape. Except this one.

The British budget label Music for Pleasure "accidentally" used the tapes with the correct sound, as originally issued. It's probably not from the first generation masters -- probably a first generation dub for the British market, made back in the '50s. But the sound is very good, and it's a revelation to finally hear these albums as they were originally issued.

If you're a Sinatra purist, the Music for Pleasure edition of this CD is a must.Read full review...

Frank Sinatra - Swing Easy

Apart from the annoying cover photo, this is a good slice of Sinatra. This is not a greatest hits and so has good continuity with the production, the band are excellent and frank's in fine voice. Not as good as "songs for swingin' lovers" but still pretty good. 7/10Read full review...
