Fun two-disc set

This is a DVD copy of Freddy Vs. Jason, and it comes in a two-disc set, which I always love. From my knowledge, all of the bonus features from this set (plus maybe some more) were included on the later Blu-ray release, so take that into account. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’ve heard decent things about it, and I am a fan of both franchises. Overall, nice release.Read full review...

Krueger vs. Vorhees

While this movie gets a lot of negative reviews from most people I found it enjoyabel It could have been much better wich you realize as you listen to director commentaries and extra features talking about things they couldnt do because of budget and timing another thing this movie seems to focuse much more on Freddy than Jason more like he just happens to be using jason who's a side character but other than that fabs of the nightmare and friday franchises will both enjoy this movie excellent special effects and the same stoned sex craving teens asking for a bad dream about a machete in the face and of course Robert Englund returning to his role as Freddy with Kane Hodder (friday 7- jasonx) doing the stunts for jasonRead full review...

Yet ANOTHER Great Horror Flick! Totally Recommended.

At first I considered not purchasing Freddy vs. Jason because my first thoughts were, "Oh, it's going to be a battle between these two for an hour and a half? How boring." But when my friends told me that it was a really great film and that it revolved more around Freddy, I couldn't help but purchase the DVD to check it out for myself. When I got to sit down and watch it in full, with alternate/deleted scenes and all, I had to admit that it was one of the best horror films I had seen in a long time. They combined the greatness of two awesome horror movie icons into one film without making it boring. I also liked that they gave each character some background, which isn't common with the other films I'd seen of the same class. It was a nice change! The idea that Freddy tortures Jason in his dreams is quite interesting, and not something you would really expect. I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who's a horror movie lover. It's a great mix of classic and modern, and it won't disappoint, but I warn you: the ending will surprise you!Read full review...

1..2...Freddy's Comin for you

I grew up in the age of these slasher flicks and love them immensely!! Needless to say...I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Not only does it combine the two greatest slasher "villains" of all time, but it also has some of the best music in any of the movies. The story goes like this...Freddy has been forgotten and he awakens Jason to kill people on Elm Street so they will start remembering Freddy, thus causing him to have the strength to continue killing again. But, Jason won't stop killing which angers Freddy and one of the greatest fights in movie history begins.

As with any movie of this genre, there is ample nudity so beware parents. Lots of gore and dismemberment also. Dark humor and cheesy lines abound...but that's what we want from these types of movies ...right?

So, if you love these types of movies or if you've never heard of them before..I recommend getting this movie. The 2 disc Platinum edition contains some really great extras that make it even more worthwhile and the "jump to a death" option lets you skip the story and just witness some the most brutal killings ever created in movies.

3...4... Better lock your door!!!

Finally!!!

I know what you're thinking!! Finally... the movie that Slasher fans have been dying to see (pun intended) is here!!
This movie is possibly the most anticipated Horror movie of all time. It was rumored since the late 1980s and was
hyped up for over a decade before it was even made. Jason and Freddy, the two biggest names in Horror Cinema,
finally lock horns in what proved to be the the coolest Horror film, though not the scariest, ever made. The story for
this is very cool, and written very well with some actually decent characters. Now the one guy who's like a rip off of
Jay from the "Jay and Silent Bob" films is kinda... annoying, but as we all know, you don't smoke the whacky weed
in a Slasher movie. He did, and it was taken care of. Lots of cool deaths, awesome atmosphere and set decoration,
great music, cool stunts and even the acting is good. The story (in a nutshell) is Freddy, unable to do anything to
anyone because no one remembers him, awakens the rotting corpse of the killing machine known as Jason. Now,
almost brainwashed, Jason goes to Elm Street in good ol' Springwood Ohio to kill some teens and conjure up old
memories of Freddy, thus giving him the power he needs to do what he does best. Jason turns out to be too good
at his job and when Freddy gets mad, he lets Jason know what he's doing. Now the $#!% hits the fan and Jason
battles Freddy in the Dream World. The teens knowing that Freddy is the biggest of their problems, have to keep
Jason alive long enough to get him to Crystal Lake, wake him up and bring Freddy into the real world for the final
fight. This movie is HIGHLY recommended to those, who like me, always had the "what if" fantasies about this epic!!

Bonus Features include Deleted Scenes, Alternate Scenes and much more!!

Freddy vs. Jason (DVD, 2004, Platinum Series)

One of my favorite horror movies of all time. The platinum series is truly worth getting because it has the behind the scenes and history that led up to this great film. Ronny Yu did a fantastic job putting this classic together. Nothing more exciting then watching two famous killers Freddy and Jason facing off! I purchased the movie because I'm a big fan of Freddy & Jason series and collect memorabilia from this film. A true horror classic!Read full review...

Ugh! Whose Bright Idea Was This?

Sorry but I do not care for the crossover characters. And by now the Freddy and Jason franchises have gotten out of hand - I love 1980's horror but enough is enough.

Freddy gets Jason out of hell so that he can kill kids and have everyone remember him (Freddy that is) and he can kill again. But Jason was never one to take direction and keeps killing - even the ones Freddy wanted for himself.

Very shiny, slick and messy, this is one for the fans of newer "horror" that mostly shocks, not much substance or originality. Rent the original Freddy or Jason movies.

Waiting My Entire Life For This Moment

The first time I saw Freddy Krueger I was 9, a few years later I saw Jason and immediatly I wanted them to beat the heck out of each other. More than a dozen rumors and years later...
This is just that.
In the beginning of the movie, Freddy and Jason are getting along.... which is pretty weak, but then the tides shift and the battle begins.
The commentary is hilarious "It's a Jason kegger" Robert Englund cackles as Freddy. (Best commentary of the film is when Englund speaks, that man is a genious)
If you're a Freddy fan, or a Jason fan, you will not be disappointed.
In a way, Paramount selling the Jason franchise to New Line was the best horror movie business merger ever.
