My Childhood

FREEDOM FIGHTERS is one of the best games ever produced, to me. I began this game when I was 6 years old. I'm now 20. I still have my original copy, but I just bought a newer, lighter used because mine was wearing out because I played it too much. I absolutely adore every single thing about this game. I love love love it!!!!! I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a 3rd person shooter, with strategic battle planning and an excellent storyline. You'll thank me, if you ever decide to buy it.Read full review...

Although older game it still shines

Imagine to yourself that the city in which you live was an invasion site by a foreign country. Then you have to yourself a rebel base that is one of the only hopes for your city and country. That is the case for this game in which you have you yourself and the rebels to help kick out the Soviets. Your brother is kidnapped and your father is a military genius. All of the game centers on keeping your home turf safe and rid of Soviets. The weapons are fairly nice and basic. You have medi-kits and wrenches so you can open sewer holes. Gameplay is all about you getting you and your team through each level with strategy and not guns blazing. The controls are good but a bit funky. Levels and enemies are designed nicely. Enemies are set to a pretty good level of set up. How you recruit people is an inventive way to put it. This game delivers in single player as well as multiplayer and is one solid game.Read full review...

totally original

Who did we fear in the 50's? Who has a vast arsenal of nukes? Who are stereotyped as an altogether ruthless and bloodthirsty people? That's right: the Soviet Union. Now, most of these stereotypes are completely exaggerated and hold almost no shred of truth. But does that stop IO Interactive from making a game about them? Hell no. Freedom Fighters asks another one of those classic "what if" questions. What if the USSR won the cold war? What would happen to the world? Well, according to the developers of Freedom Fighters, they would slowly conquer most of the eastern hemisphere and then invade the US in an attempt to overthrow the last country that holds out against them. This is where Freedom Fighters begins. You play as a plumber who becomes an urban guerilla soldier fighting the Soviets. Just about everything that freedom fighters does in does right. From the exciting story to the superb gameplay and some of the best music to ever grace a game. First of all Freedom Fighters is underrated and underappreciated. It didn't sell that well and that it a terrible shame because this is a game that should be experienced by all. I mean you’re hooked from the start and it just gets better and better. First of all the squad controls are excellent and easy to use no matter how many soldiers you have and eventually you'll have 12 soldiers under your command. Your squad mates are very intelligent, along with the enemy soldiers, exhibit some of the most impressive a.i. seen in game. The 3rd person shooting is handled well and the aiming system does take getting used to but eventually becomes simple enough. The graphics are very solid and the environments are all superb and varied throughout the game. The character models are solid and the included ragdoll physics are again some of the best to grace a videogame. The weapon selection is a little lacking but not too big an issue. The music is absolutely superb and always manages to keep you enthralled in the game. From start to finish Freedom Fighters is a blast and easily one to keep playing. There is a multiplayer but it has only one mode that is fun but there simply needed to be more modes to play with. It sucks that it got low sales and that hurts the chances for a much needed sequel. But if ever a game deserved a sequel Freedom Fighters would be it. So if you have not played freedom fighters, do yourself a favor go pick it up, you won't regret, and hell it only costs like 10$ so what have you got to lose?Read full review...

Very good game!

I decided to buy this game since I've had my PS2 for a while now, and I just needed a new game to enjoy. This game is very good. It has a very good story line about New York City being taken over by the Russians, and it needs saving! It's very engrossing, and I thoroughly enjoy it, and I'm very glad that I purchased it. Now, it's not anywhere near as suffisticated and detailed oriented as say, Syphon Filter or SoCOM or Metal Gear Solid but it's still a good game nonetheless! Hope this helped.Read full review...

A game that i can never find but found on ebay

Well i fisrt came across the game at a video store and like it real quick i like the fact that you can jump across levels, and each mission that you do affects other mission as well say you got a helicopter that bugs you take it out in one level where its refuling blow it up and no more helicopter. What else is cool is you get to control your own troops from defending to desrtoy and retreat another is that four people can play as well when you play against each other over all its a good game to playRead full review...
