I first saw Friends as the episodes were released and have seen it on countless occasions since. It still makes me chuckle and now that I have the boxed set, I can watch as many episodes as I like which is great to be able to do on a miserable winter's day. Friends Seasons 1-10 (15th Anniversary Boxset Extended, Exclusive & Unseen Edition).

The UK release of the complete series of Friends finally gets all the extended episodes, extras and commentaries that were previously only available in the US! Unlike the previous Friends box sets below these Friends DVDs are all on single sided discs so are much easier to use.

I Myself am a huge fan of friends but have only ever had the collection as downloads. I have owned several of the single DVDs for each series and collected as I went but never built a full collection.

A close and dear friend of mine was going through a rough time and had worn out her box set So I saw this available and thought it would make a great present for her.

So I decided to splash out on this 15th Anniversary Box Set.

I received it about a month ago and have had it still in the box waiting for an opportunity to give it to her closer to Christmas. Yesterday I decided to check the set out and am really pleased.

Not only does it come in a lovely presentation box but there are bundles of extras.

1) All episodes are the extended US versions which means some people who have the single DVD versions won't have this.

2) Each Series box contains 4 single sided DVDs which is a major plus. Previously the series was put on double sided DVDs and the labelling wasn't very clear. Now you get 4 discs per series.

3) In addition to the episodes for each series you get extras on every single disc. I won't describe each one as they are listed on the Amazon product page. However, die hard Friends fans will be pleased to see that you get some great extras such as my favourites which are:-
Gag Reels from series 1-4 and 6-10 (not sure what happened to series 5).

4) You also receive a nice Episode guide book. The book details each episode with a description and pictures. You also get an additional few pages at the back detailing some of the more famous props.

5) The DVDS come with Dutch and English subtitles.

6) They are shown in 16:9 Widescreen format (so no black lines appear down the sides of the screen)

My overall opinion is that this box set is well priced and an absolute must have. The box set isn't too bulky so fits nicely in with other DVDs and also looks particularly nice in its presentation box.Read full review...

A great set, no dvd collection should be without!!!!

Wow at last took the plunge and bought the box set!!! I love Friends and my nine year old daughter is discovering it now which is fab!! I got out of watching it when she was a baby and have always wanted to watch it from the beginning and boy am I glad I did! The set is brand new and sealed, with a fairly thick booklet with coloured pictures that gives a short summery of each episode, the quality of the discs are excellent and the box is sturdy and attractive looking. There is about 80 hours of viewing and extras as well. The price is excellent for the amount of discs and covers the whole series, we are still slowly plodding through them all with much enjoyment.

The leading mainstream US comedy of the 1990s retains its popularity due to its continuing relevance to single people in their 20s.

Extremely good value, if you can live with a slightly subpar picture. Comedy about the lives of 6 single 20-something friends in 1990s New York. Right from the start, the ensemble chemistry is very good. Rachel & Joey are the eye candy. Monica & Chandler have good verbal comic timing, while Ross & Phoebe are the more physical, oddball comics. The writing is a little weak for the first 12 episodes, but each of the cast is prepared to undergo major humilitation in order to keep the laughs going. There's also more sexual inuendo than the mainstream norm for the 2010s. Midway through Season 1, the studio seems to have recognised a hit. Thereafter, the writing is better, and Monica's hair is fixed so that she looks under 30. The iconic Rachel hair comes a little later.

Friends picks up on two linked social phenomena, new in the 1990s, which have persisted to the present day. Firstly, later marriage, especially in big cities, and consequently stronger singleton friendship groups for people in their 20s. Secondly, the decline in fortunes of the US middle class since the 1970s is reflected in the low quality jobs of the Friends, especially when compared to those of their parents. Many of the audience will identify with these aspects of the show, which add extra depth to the laughs.Read full review...

Great show

When I first ordered the dvd's I was a bit worried, slightly damaged box loose discs, but upon receipt there was minimal damage to the box, i wouldn't have noticed. I opened all ten seasons boxes in all 3 discs were loose. Fabulous Friends

Have wanted this box set for quite a few years as I miss seeing it on TV. The DVDs are exactly what I expected - each episode is so funny and entertaining as it was when it was airing on the television. Even if you've not seen Friends before, I would highly recommend as they are timeless and the writers are so clever with the wit and storylines.
