I have one of these in my basement, and it works well. It is about two years old, so I bought another to be ready when I need it. The new one works fine, too, so I'm storing it for now. A light lets you know when the filter needs to be cleaned, and it is very easy to remove and replace, which isn't often. this thing is great, suggest the garden hose to fix the constant drain, as dumping the bucket isn't hard but i'm in the south, this is humidity country here. You are going to love this de-hume. I hope it lasts, this unit was absolutely new, just opened box, all packaging, instructions, never been ran that I could tell. Don't be afraid. this was a great buy!

Frigidaire FFAD7033R1 70-Pint Dehumidifier

We use the dehumidifier as a whole-house unit, situated in the laundry area of the basement. We have no moisture issues, we just want to keep the humidity to a better level. We do not constantly run our A/C, so this unit gets a workout when the windows and doors are open. I connected the unit to a sump with a short hose for continuous drainage. Setup and instructions were simple and easy to follow. Controls are easy to use and adjust. I had read that there were noise level issues with this model, but I am satisfied with the level. This unit is more quiet than my previous unit, which had stopped working after about three years. The previous unit was a 40-pint dehumidifier. Love this thing!

Even though this dehumidifier is not really small or whisper quiet it does a fantastic job! It has improved our basement room drastically. The humidity sometimes goes down as low as 40%. Due to the fact that my sealed shipping container was DRIPPING from the ceiling on occasion, needless to say I was worried about many things. So, being a skeptic, I waited to do this review for over a month after it was installed.

When I got the power bill, I was sweating bullets. ALL FOR NO REASON! This thing is GREAT! The first week it took over 7 GALLONS of water out of a 40' x 8' shipping container. This is the place mind you that I have all my tools. Previously rusting away. NO MORE!!!

Full-house effectiveness in the size of a medium sized trash can

So easy to use! Just plug in and power on. On the first day, this unit decreased our in-home humidity more than 15% (probably more) and produced several buckets full of water. It maintains a humidity of around 60%, even on Iowa's muggiest days (haven't tried it at a lower setting yet...). Perfect for getting the funky, moldy smell out of basements or musty houses. Works to clean the air because it reduces the amount of moisture available for mold and fungus spores. Bucket is easy to remove and empty (just dump it in the bathtub). Alternatively, a drainage hose can be attached and fed out any window or drain. We are VERY happy we bought this unit to help us during the rehab of an old house that needed a lot of work. It would also be AWESOME to help with basement flooding or disaster clean-up. (It won't mop up the water, but it will keep water vapor from damaging all the above water-level surfaces). Of course, you shouldn't sit this piece of equipment in a puddle or anything. It is, after all, electrical.Read full review
